Exceptional campground. Beautiful, superbly maintained, and very private spacious sites. Over July 4, 2025 weekend, we stayed in Site 5. It was well maintained.
The bathroom/showers had plenty of hot water and were clean. Camp hosts were friendly, professional, and available.

Nice FS campground close to Ely. Someone had occupied our reserved site but the office staff found us a comparable site and were very apologetic. Sites are reasonably sized but a large RV would find getting in to many of the sites challenging. Bathhouse was very nice. Surprisingly good Verizon coverage.

Mike and Cheryl here. We have a 44 foot Class A RV. Here is my review of Fall Lake Campground. Getting to the campground was good. The roads in the campground are paved and are in good condition. The trees are all well trimmed. The campground office was closed but they had a welcome packet ready. Not sure about camp store available. There is a large parking area near the office. There are no seasonal campers. No escort to site but was given map. The road signage to our site was good. Sites have fire pits and they sell firewood. Our site was 10, a pull thru site with a gravel drive and gravel patio area, with a picnic table. The site had a nice view of the forest. Our site was level. Most sites are too small but this was good. The site was dry. All sites are electric only. There are two bath houses. There was no laundry. There is no swimming pool but there is a beach area. No rec room. No workout fitness room. The grounds look OK. No cable tv. No over air antenna. No Wifi. Verizon cell service poor. So here is the bad: Nothing. I would come back. Definitely 5 stars… Great FS campground! Beautiful, clean, spacious sites, & bathrooms were awesome. We camped the last week of the season and fished with a Guide from Ely Fishing Guide Service, they get 5 stars too thanks to Peter !
We also rented canoes one day and had a blast on the lake:):)

Great FS Campground at the entrance to the Boundary Waters Canoe Wilderness Area. Campground is very well maintained with excellent bath houses. Many sites with electricity. Some of the sites are pretty far out of level and will require generous blocking to level RV's. Many of the sites are on the small side and won't fit big rigs or fifth wheels. Fall Lake is lovely and great for paddling. the Boundary Waters begin at the boat launch in the campground. Kawishiwi Falls is a short hike nearby. The toen of Ely is a great outdoor town and can provide anything you need. The campground does not have a dump station. The Chamber of Commerce in Ely has a dump station for $5 (2021). Drinking water is available at the campground at the checking office and also in town at the Chamber of Commerce.

We were driving through northern MN and were looking for any campground that had an open site late in the afternoon for a one night stay. We're self-contained and don't use the facilities except for an occasional shower. We camped on a weeknight in August.
This campground is absolutely beautiful! It sits on a point in Fall Lake on the Boundary Waters. Most sites are 2 level - park your car or rig, few steps to picnic table/fire pit - generously sized and private. Many sites are on the lake with views and/or a trail to the lake. Most sites are electric only. There's good ATT and Verizon coverage and no wifi. There's water in the CG and a dump station a few miles outside the campground.
We would select Fall Lake Campground as a destination in the future as a base to canoe or kayak in the Boundary Waters.
