This is a great campground in the northern suburbs of Minneapolis / St. Paul. You will swear you’re up north in the woods away from the cities but actually just 2 miles from Target, Walmart, restaurants and movie theaters. The recently renovated Bunker Beach outdoor water park is just a short walk from the campground. We found that many campers stay here for the easy access to the water park. There are 3 loops to the campground, most sites with electric and water hookups and each loop having it’s own restroom building. The vast majority of sites are big, wooded, spread out and private. There are many walking trails and enough paved bike trails within the park for easy riding. The only negative we had with camping here is the noise from the water park which reduced my rating by one star. All day long you will hear the faint sounds of music and loudspeakers. We had site #4 which is located in the campground loop farthest from the water park. I would highly recommend this loop to keep the noise at bay. Even with that downside we will definitely be back another year especially since the park is only 8 miles from our home. Favorite sites: 1, 3 through 8, 10, 17, 18, 20, 22, 23, 24.

Great county park. Sites have electricity and water but no sewer. Lots of space between sites. Beware of the deer ticks. There are lots.

Very nice campground. Spacious sites(mine was #23) polite and helpful staff at check in. I would come back. My only complaint is what sounds like a gun shooting range nearby and hearing shooting very often.

Lovely park. We were surprised how much it felt like we were away from the city, but really we were only 20 mins or so from the urban center. A great family getaway. My only complaint is that the pool is open all night and gets very loud with music blasting. But loved the sites and amenities

Each site separated from neighbors with trees. 50 amp side has great showers. Wave pool separate fee.
