It is unfortunate that we were not told the campground was in the US. We are in Canada making a cross-Canada trip from Vancouver to Newfoundland and thought we were making a reservation for a campsite in Canada. We definitely did not want to have to go back and forth through the border crossing. They apparently have a firm policy of no refunds. Otherwise it sounds like a good place to stay and Laura was informative about the park but not about the location.

A good place to stay - some sites have great views of the giant ships traveling on the St Mary River. Some have partial views. Bathrooms clean. We were on site 14 with electric but no water. Spaces are a little tight and sloping down towards the river. A little bit of a challenge to get level. Good location to investigate the sights in the area - fairly quiet at night - a little traffic noise during the day. I would stop here again.

Friendly staff, great sites and view of river. Stay on asphalt like we did after days of being in mud at other locations or on many grass sites. Plenty of places to walk and see museums, tours, etc. Much is still closed due to virus but hopefully that will change. Can’t do anything fast with WiFi but good for email. Verizon was 1-3 bars and we had no trouble getting messages/email. I’d come back here again! Stay 6 nights, 7 night is free! Coffee available as is good! Pastie at Frank’s was so so... locals said go west young man if you want real ones! Pink salmon and Atlantic salmon running right now and they are catching them!

Nice campground. Met our needs well. Nice bathroom/shower. Some sites are waterfront on river or canal which makes for nice boat viewing. They have a laundry but plan for short hours of availability and bring your own firewood as their bundles are small!

This was a very nice campground, well maintained and very clean. Nice laundry room. They do free coffee in the morning. If you can get a space on the St. Mary River, numbers 39 through 46, you will have a lovely lawn and a great view of all the freighters coming through. Marinetraffic.comWill give you the details and all of the ships coming through. It’s a short walk or drive to the locks park. We were there during Covid and only the grassy area around the park was open. There is also a ship museum that is worthwhile. The only downside is the sites are very narrow and close together.

Nice park & friendly folks. 1/2 & 1/2 grass & concrete sites. The one HUGE downside was impossible use of wifi. Normally this is a minor problem. However Verizon cell reception was also, at best, spotty.

Great campground on the water. We were given spit 38 which is waterfront and the only one where camper sits parallel to the river. Great view. Quiet place, clean and neat. Very orderly, It runs like a ship, no pun intended. Wi-Fi is iffy, even with our Winegard extender. Old school campground, they will snail mail you a confirmation as they don’t have an email or website! Very convenient to downtown and locks, very quiet at nite. Picnic area along the river is nice, and they have a dock area for boats and kayaks to be launched. Power and water good, great deal for $35. Verizon signal only two bars out of 5.

Nice campground on the water. If you get a site on the water, make sure it’s on the main frontage and not on a curve. Some sites are paved, some gravel. Water and electric at site. No cable. Didn’t use WiFi. Strong ATT signal. Bathhouse was older, but clean. Shower had hot water. Campground is in between docks 1 and 2 for the Soo Lock Boat tour. Highly recommend. About 1.5 miles from Visitors Center/Locks. Washers $2/Dryers $1.25. Many rules/signs EVERYWHERE. A tad childish.

Nice spot right on the St. Mary's river. We paid a few dollars extra for a waterfront spot, well worth it. Clean, quiet, level gravel pad. Easy level walk into town. We do wish the wi-fi actually worked, but we are getting used to going only on cellular data. :-(
