Beautiful setting, unfortunately hosted by liars, claiming that nearby Three Lakes C.G. Was a dangerous location used for drug drops by gangs, even telling me someone had been stabbed there. As this was my only Hiawatha N. F. Camping option because Soldier Lake was full, I had to continue driving and ended up in a noisy, private site in town. Turns out camp management is contracted out for Hiawatha N.F campgrounds, except for Three Lakes, so it was suspected by another Hiawatha N.F. Official, that the lying was a dig at the competition by an employee of the private contracted service provider.

Nice quiet campground. Host takes excellent care of the facilities. Vault toilets, water under pressure, dry camping only but beautiful sites and lake. Will definitely come back

National Forest campground 30 miles west of Sault St. Marie. Perfect base camp for UP explorations. Large spacious sites, many lakeside. Dry camping only, vault toilets, tables, fire rings. Hotspot usable AT&T service. Concessionaire managed, but senior pass honored. $16/8 nightly.
Heavily treed, mostly level, with reservable sites. A jewel of a campground.
