Very nice Camp location, but also very sandy. All sites have 30 amp hookups only. There is a dumpsite with fresh water by the front entrance. Dumpsters are also located there. A few sites have water hookups that are shared. Camp host has limited hoses to loan if you need them. Bath house is well maintained and has about 10 plus shower stalls. Walking distance to the beach with beautiful sunsets.

Small sites although some space between; backing in a trailer can be tough; bring a rug as you WILL get sand everywhere - but the payoff is camping at a beautiful beach, with tons of space on the beach, beautiful sunsets; lots of beach rental equipment available and an easy walk into cute village of Pentwater for ice cream, dinner or Thursday concert on the village free .

We really like Mears State Park. Each site has electric hookup and they are paved. There are only 3 pull through sites and overall the sites are tight; tough to get into. As of this writing, October 2017, rates are $31 per night and we think that's pretty reasonable. Being right at the beach is wonderful and Pentwater is a very quaint village.

If you want to feel like camping at the beach, then this is the place to go. Sites are paved with fine beach sand between all sites, with open lakefront sites as well as shadier sites in the back. Narrow roads and they pack you in, but there is surprisingly ample space between most sites. Staff is friendly, "free" WiFi is spotty and marginal. As with most Michigan State Parks, service is electric only, but was reliable. We used the beach bathhouse and restrooms, which are typical. A nice campground for beach lovers or an overnight stay when circling the Mitt.
