★★☆☆☆
Average outdated, overpriced, now business/investor-owned park in need of plumbing, site and other infrastructure upgrades. Lots of mature shade trees with some hills, tight turns and ground clearance issues getting in/out of some sites. Gravel, generally flat sites. Concrete patio w/table. Short term sites are mix of W/E only and FHU. Park has been allowed to become mainly a "mobile" home park especially on riverfront with add-on structures built on many sites. Remaining sites are mix of seasonal and short term. Only a few sites actually large enough to park RV and 1 vehicle in driveway. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice playground. Small basketball court and volleyball court. Rental bikes available. Very small store. Mobile shower and laundry trailers on site during peak season, due to inadequate permanent bath and laundry facilities, occupying 2 OK looking sites. Generally quiet even with OHV trail bridge next to park except for too frequent lawn maintenance, even when lawn didn't need it, and staff OHV. Overdone lawn edging poisoning has increased muddy areas after rain. For stays of week or longer, outdated sewer system requires either leaving tank valves open, spreading tank dumping over multiple days or slow-dumping tanks. Regular black and grey tank dumping causes sewer water to back up and come out of "overflow" near sewer drainpipe. Onsite pump-out is available. Stayed 3 weeks in August in 40' trailer. Cable and adequate wi-fi.

We have a 45 ft motorhome with a 23 foot trailer pulling our vehicle. Accessibility is always a top priority for us. This is followed in order by the beauty of the surroundings and overall cleanliness of grounds and buildings, helpfulness of staff, full hook up with 50 amp service, spaciousness of the lot, and lastly the governance of the campground itself. Rivers Bend exceeded our expectations from an accessibility standpoint. We easily pulled into our site and did not have to unhook our trailer! Access from the road was easy as well. Where this venue fell short was there was no dump at the site. The entire site was very clean and Willie our host was very helpful. The location was convenient to the highway. The facility was very clean. The sites were large and spacious. Would come back again.

This park had some surprising positives. First, the managers (owners?) Willie and Willie the Older were unbelievable. Anything they could do to help and with a truly positive attitude. I saw Willie walk or bike or carry equipment past our site multiple times a day. The park was immaculate. The most pleasant surprise was a large park-like addendum with a pond, a bit of woods and more than enough space to run the dog without bothering anybody else. Unfortunately, the riverfront was cheek by jowl with seasonal people and park models, and there was no access. But Iron Mountain was a lovely little city with a couple of good grocery stores, restaurants, and an unbelievable Italian Deli (Crispigna's). The grocery store in Niagara, WI (Marcouiller's) has a great meat section with good prices, the produce is pretty poor, though. We would return, and considered changing our plans to stay longer.
