Water forget-me-nots and meadow buttercups everywhere! The campground is significantly above the lake. Shoreline access at the harbor via a trail from the campground. Be prepared for mosquitoes and "no-see-ums", biting insects so small they easily pass through RV window screens. Pit toilets were clean. Electric 30 amp only at sites. There are both reserved and FCFS sites, and some are not level. Campground is paved, and many sites are big rig friendly. Great birding. Next time, I will make a reservation and stay longer. I visited June 11, 2025. $22 or $11 with interagency senior pass.

Camped one night Tue Sep 24 w/o reservations; several sites available. Sites have nice privacy, are wooded and paved; a couple of them have electric and some have a view of the lake. Pit toilets were decent; water system was not working and the hydrants did not have hose connections. Harbor has good access for power boats and paddle; lots of hiking and falls in the area.

Nice campground with secluded sites and for the most part level. Bugs were plentiful so bring a screen house. Waterfalls in the area. 15 miles from the main road.

Love this hidden gem! Clean campground and friendly host. No problem finding a site on Lake Superior and its close to all the attractions. We will definitely camp here again in the future.

This campground was closed in 2015. I am not sure if it will reopen for 2016. I heard something about bad water, but I am not absolutely sure if that's accurate.
