Excellent campground! Very convenient to shopping, dining, Starbucks, Home Depot, Metro station, I-95, I-495 and I-280. Easy access and convenient to DC by car or public transportation. There’s a Metro bus stop at the park entrance. Park is extremely clean and very well maintained. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Camp store is well stocked. Swimming pool is clean and well-maintained with professional lifeguards. Deck furniture looks brand new. There’s an outdoor fitness area and a pickleball court. The clubhouse has a cafe that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. They’ll deliver to your site. Laundry room was very clean and machines in great shape. Our site was level and included a brick patio area with outdoor dining table with 5 chairs, a picnic table and a fire ring. Utility hook-ups were in a convenient place. Trash and recycling cans are in convenient spots around the park. All roads are paved. There’s a walking path around the perimeter of the park. There is some road noise but we found it tolerable. We will definitely be back. We travel in a 42’ Class A towing a Jeep.

Great park. We’ve stayed here twice. It’s perfect you want to see DC. hey have a daily bus to the mall and back, and they’ll show you how to access and use other public transportation. The sites are very nice, as are the amenities, and the staff as well. Highly recommend.

High end pricing , nice views and facilities. Why 4 star ? the bozos put the water , sewer and electric at front of the campsite at the front left of the site !!! I could barely stay in my site with normal waste and electric hookups .

We went for the Cherry Blossom Festival in DC. This campground was nice, and very clean. Lots were gravel, and fairly level with full hook ups. There wasn’t much privacy. Our site had a fire ring and picnic table and was close to bath house. The bath house was nice and clean with stained glass windows. Very pretty. There were lots of activities, an outdoor pool, and ball courts. Easy access from the interstate. The campground had a bus depot on site that you could ride to the metro to get into DC. Camp store was well stocked and the staff was super friendly. We were only 38 minutes from downtown DC. But if you didn’t want to go into the city, there was plenty of restaurants and stores close by. Bonus: They had cherry trees ?

Just spent the last 2 weeks of November 2023 here. We stayed to explore the history of DC. For this purpose , CHP was nearly ideal. There are many ways to to get in town or to catch tours. The office people were terrific and helpful. It was a well run and clean place. I imagine in summers, with kids, there would be so much to do and enjoy. The overall facilities were very good but short of great. My benchmark for this type of family park is Normandy Farms in Massachusetts . Now that place is 5 stars. Prices are slightly less here but both are expensive. Did have some rude neighbors over thanksgiving weekend. That can happen anywhere. We are retired travelers. Our biggest gripe is the traffic noise from the close highways. The park is snugged right in the northeast corner of the 95/495 interchange. Lots of big truck rigs and high speeds. Only really came into play at bedtime. Nights we drank wasn’t so bad. If you want to spend a lot of time in DC and/or have kids in tow, we recommend this place.

Have read all the reviews, 5 star and others. I have to personally say I believe and support all previously posted 5 star reviews. It's one of the best of all campgrounds I've stayed in the lower 48. Recommend.

We have been full timers for almost four years. This is one of the most well run campgrounds we have stayed at. They seem to have everything you want covered. From info and ways to sightseeing in DC, to things and activities on site. It is well worth the cost to stay here.

We really enjoyed this campground. Staff are extremely helpful - they deliver ice, firewood and propane. They also worked with us when we needed to revise our travel dates. Sites are gravel and mostly level. Very well kept. Bathrooms, pool and laundry facility were always clean. Family friendly and lots of activities on site. Definitely recommend and plan to stay again when we are in the area.

High end of cost but reasonable for close location to city , it is very well maintained with friendly and informative staff. Close to Metro which we used most days We stayed 6 nights. Sites tight but adequate , didn’t spend time outside around camper due to weather and we were tired from full day of sightseeing We stayed here 20 years ago with our kids, this time we had grandkids with us .

Visited in late Sept, stayed 4 nights with 31’ 5th wheel. Very expensive, but considering location and fact that nearby Nat’l Park CG was temporarily closed, it was the only option for the DC area, so we gladly paid it. This time of year there was no problem reserving a site, and even adding time afterward was not a problem. Park and facilities are very clean, sites are close, but not what I would call tight. It is an urban CG, so we weren’t looking for great distances between sites. As a base of operations or a place for families, this place is in our opinion the best location for a DC visit. Metro station nearby, DC bus has a stop within the CG, and there is a CG tour bus as well. If we ever make a similar trip, we will be back.
