Nice park, heavy use, close to New Orleans, cheap, free laundry, wifi ok for basics, clean unless idiots check in. Rangers are helpful and very nice and made us feel safe. As you will be close to a big city, practice locking your doors and putting your stuff away. Lots of dogs and happy people. Campsites are spacious and there are concrete slabs! We were very grateful to find this place.

Very disappointed. We stayed here for 4 nights five years ago and it cost us $38. This stay for 5 nights was $146 and that's not even full hookups. That's a ridiculous increase! They no longer accept Golden Age Pass. Free Wi-Fi but the signal is non-existent. I was looking forward to this stay, but doubt we'll ever come back.

Stayed three nights while visiting New Orleans. Very spacious paved sites -some with an adjacent wooden deck for picnic table (since ground slopes down from pavement.) Two new bathhouses- each with free washers and dryers. Bathhouses are not centrally located - so choose sites 1-20 or 70-90 if you want to be in the general area. Easy 20 minute drive to the Algiers passenger ferry which will take you to Canal Street in New Orleans and from there it's am easy walk to the French Quarter.
