We found Fairview Riverside State Park merely adequate. We pulled our modest 17 foot camper into the maelstrom of motor coaches and 40+ foot campers over the Thanksgiving holiday. The park is located in a beautiful location right on the Tchefuncte River, and it鈥檚 close enough to New Orleans for a day trip. Storm damage from Hurricane Ida remains along the river bank necessitating an orange construction fence that obscures much of the view. The sites are uncomfortably close with absolutely no foliage anywhere between, and many sites had three or more vehicles crowding the narrow lanes. The park seems best suited for big rigs and folks needing access to the river for boating. The bathrooms are okay clean. The staffer who checked us in was cheerful, chatty and helpful, but her counterpart the next day was cranky and aloof. We would stay here again only for a quick overnight and only in an RV.

We stopped here for the night will passing through on our way back home traveling on I10. Very well maintained campground and park. The restrooms were clean. If you are over 62 you can get a discount (I believe the code was on the website) we would definitely stay here again.

We were surprised how nice this park was. Friendly staff. Front area is more kid friendly with playground. We are in a 24鈥 class C. We stayed in spot 61 facing the picturesque waterfront which has a level asphalt pad. Like others say, it has an immaculate bathroom/shower area (air conditioned) with lots of space. Has a wood plank swamp trail through the lush moss covered cypress tress.

Close enough to town and down town New Orleans and swamp tours. +4 7 melanie martinez Local Guide脗路113 reviews脗路3632 photos a year ago Beautiful place. If you have a big rig I suggest the back portion of the park. Was a bit difficult to maneuver our 39 foot fifth wheel. Bath house was very clean and spacious! Would definitely go back! +11 4 Phil O (17) 40 reviews脗路121 photos 7 months ago Beautiful park on the river. Good price and nice size sites. We were there after a hurricane so the boardwalk along the river was closed for repair but the one through the swamp was awesome. +3 Cheryl Local Guide脗路26 reviews脗路22 photos Edit Review Delete Review a minute ago NEW Stayed Feb 2023 in a Roadtrek Class B for 2 nights. I would have given a 5 star but vent fans in shower not working and the only toilets available were in the showers. Really need an additional restroom area in addition to the three shower rooms (3 men/3women). Hosts were very nice! Check in was a breeze. Nice playground area. Boardwalk through swamp was a nice walk. Historic home to tour on grounds but not open while we were here. Both Sites we were on were wet/marshy in areas while we were here but I芒鈧劉m sure that芒鈧劉s a rain issue. Would stay again!

Nice park sites were small but not close together. Showers were clean and easy to use. Nice area

Made for smaller travel trailers. Very small campsite areas with narrow roadways. Park does not enforce parking so a lot of vehicles were blocking campsite access. No sewer connections and dump station is located in a high traffic area with narrow roads. This park definitely needs attention for upgrades.

This is a hidden gem. Not very large but a gorgeous setting!

An older campground built when campers were traveling with pop-up trailers and smaller recreational vehicles. Needs some updating such as converting some of the corner sites into pull-thrus and extending the length of other pads to accommodate some of the monster house-size RVs. It芒鈧劉s obvious that some who reserve online are ignoring the length of the pad being reserved. When it rains, grassy areas become a muddy mess due to vehicles being inconsiderately parked in a manner against park rules while other sites become ponds with no access to the picnic tables. Otherwise, this is a decent campground.

Our second time at this park. This time was spring break in Louisiana so it was packed. Reserved a month in advance and not much was available, but got site 14 which was 52 foot supposedly. Due to being a corner site and strange road configuration...its definitely not the site for unskilled big rig parkers, which thankfully I am not. Possibly better suited for 5th wheelers. Heavy rains turned park into a quagmire...full of wet, muddy, but happy campers. Happily, the park drains well. Good 50 amp and water pressure...no sewer hookups. Restrooms were immaculate despite heavy use. Stayed in a 40 ft class A with tow.

We were here mid week with a 40' class A and towed pick up. We shared the back campground with 4 other campers. We had campsite 68, in which our RV and Pick up both fit. It was dry while we were here, so no mud or rutting issues noted in other reviews. The staff was friendly and helpful. The trail, though short, was just beautiful. The restroom / shower room was immaculate and air conditioned! About a 40 minute drive across the Pontchartrain Causeway (24 mile bridge!) to the Garden District in NoLa. The site had a level gravel pad, 50 amp, water, picnic table, and fire ring. Our experience was very good and we would certainly stay here again.
