Camped one night Friday April 21, 2023 w/o reservations. Wide open and lots of sites to choose from; paid the attendant/host $20 upon entering and was told to take whatever site we wanted. Chose one in the upper area near the bathroom/shower, which was clean. Hiking and canoe/kayaking available in the park.

Very quiet & nice and handy to the freeway. Nice level sites with decent spacing, grass and shade @ $20 for electricity. They lost a star because they have extra tall unnecessary speed bumps hard on suspension that are unavoidable.

I tried to make reservations at the site and we have an a line or camper. We can only choose class a comma class B, class C or group. Do you have left reserve America and the new website is a nightmare. I’m not staying there.

Arrived after dark in the pouring rain and found a roomy and flat campsite close to the restrooms. The restrooms were clean and well maintained. Check in and check out were easy with self registration and self pay. Very reasonably priced. The area is known for their expansive MB trails so we will return when we have time to explore them.

The park is nice and clean with large sites. We stayed over the hill next to the river in a close to 100' pull through. There are lots of treed sites on top of the hill. All of the electric sites are 50-amp. You can barely hear I-74 at times. There were a couple of hiking trails which was a diversion for us. our GPS took us right here using Kickapoo road address. Cost was $20 cash. They do take reservations. We had 2 bars Verizon and OTA TV.

Very nice clean campground. Most (not all) sites are good size with plenty of outdoor activities. Minimal road noise and extremely peaceful

Nice campground! don't follow Garmin directions as it takes you across the freeway to the fairgrounds. heading west, take exit 210. At stop sign take right and follow the signs.

Beautiful State Park on land that was once a surface coal mine. Fairly new bathhouse had timed, push button showers. The Kickapoo Landing Cafe had an excellent Blue Grass band playing dockside the Friday night we were there. Campground is in the section of the park that is north of the highway.
