Nice sites with great views. Very nice bathhouse. Easy access to the lake and Yellowstone National Park. Only eight sewer hookups in the whole park and the dump station is closed indefinitely, but they can direct you to other dump stations in the area. We were heading south and used a state dump station about twenty miles down the road.

The Good: nice sites withe Great lake views, nice staff
Easy access to Yellowstone, nice lake access
There are a few full hookup sites
The Bad: Windy as heck all the time
The Ugly: Now costs $90 per night thanks to legislature choosing to double cost for non residents

Nice looking place, and the staff are friendly and helpful and it is clean. I’d give it 5 stars…..However, while the description of the place might say full hookup, there are no sewer hookups and NO RV Dump site. While they do have an RV Dump…..IT IS CLOSED WITH NO TIMETABLE FOR RE-OPENING OR FIXING IT. Apparently the trouble is with the septic which needs replacement. So call before you visit, or dump before you get here. The closest public dump is 20 miles away and none of the private parks will allow dumping for even a fee. The public dump mentioned is in the Historical Site 1/4 mile south of the Grub House Coffee and Cabins on the river side of the highway about 19 miles south of Henry’s Lake State Park. Immediate left when (stay on pavement) you pull into the Historical Site.

While traveling across country from NY to Yellowstone, we found this campground and couldn’t be happier we did. We did not have a reservation, and the sites available as drive-up only were still great! Incredible views, approximately $30/night for out of state residents and a short drive from the west Yellowstone entrance. Highly recommend!

Great campground! Very clean. Updated restrooms except for maybe one. Very friendly staff. Good location for Yellowstone (15 miles which was fine for us. Got us out of the peopley areas). Quiet and great views with the lake. Sites are large and easy to maneuver. Would definitely stay again!

We loved this place. On our vacation we came back twice. Such a great park. It’s open and kids can ride bikes and fish at the lake. Will go again!

What a fantastic place. Our site which was #71 was perfectly level. Site had 30/50 amp service and water but no sewer. However as your pulling out they have two dump stations with a separate water station if you need good clean water. They have vault toilets scattered around the park. They even have what appears to be a very nice showering area. All sites overlook the lake. We had several beautiful sun sets. Campground is very well kept up and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

This was one of the nicest state parks we’ve ever stayed at! Friendly staff, beautiful scenery, spacious sites that are kept very clean after each guest. We were just 15 miles from west Yellowstone. The bathhouse was super clean. They were having issues with the hot water heater but they were taking care of the issue as soon as they could. No complaints except THE BUGS! Oh my word, the bugs were absolutely HORRIBLE! We couldn’t even sit outside without getting ate completely up. I guess it’s due to the lake. Which you can’t swim in because of leaches. All in all it was great!

Great park! Nice spacing and beautiful view with wildlife and ducks and pelicans around the lake. Lake is a great place to kayak and fish. The camping areas are very clean and well maintained the restrooms and showers spotless. Great staff. We will be back and highly recommend.

This park was beautiful, clean, friendly, close enough and far enough away from the hustle and bustle of tourism. (15-20 min. from West Yellowstone) Good spacing, wonderful view! Very kind staff! Will stay here again in a heartbeat! We were happy to pay 30$ for water and electric.
