This is a very nice park and well located, HOWEVER, we stayed here in 2020 for $40/night, which was very reasonable for the area, when we tried to book six nights for June 2023 the rates had increased to $75/night. This is the rate for out of state residents only, in state would have been around $37/night. Must say this is the first state park I have stayed in over the last six years of full timeing that charges such a difference in rates. Some states I have stayed in even offred to accept my National Senior Pass for a 50% discount. So if you have the money this is the place to stay, but as for me I will be looking elsewhere.

This campground is wonderful. We were on 382 but any of these outside pull thru sites provide so much convenience and privacy. Quiet. Nice network of walking trails. Full hookups. A definite do again. Very well maintained.

Such a beautiful campground. Sites in Gilmore are spacious with paved and pretty level pads for RV. Picnic benches and bbq pits set in nice areas that are raked and level. Quiet. Sites are pretty private. Good place for hiking and biking. Boating, too. Water and electric at sites. Dump is on the way out. Showers are clean, as are restrooms. We used the flush toilets, not the vault toilets, so I can’t speak to those. Brig Museum is close and interesting. There is a Super 1 grocery store close by. Verizon reception better than AT&T. Would definitely stay again.

One of our favorites! Large, paved, semi-private sites in the woods. Great hiking and biking trails. Access to lake and great lake views when hiking on trails near lake. Used to be a US Navy boot camp during WWII, and the original brig is now a very interesting museum. Nearby is the quaint town of Bay View which has a very nice combo laundromat, deli, and coffee shop, plus you can get propane at the marina.

Nice sights with some privacy and lots of greenery. Water and Electric only. Very quiet during the week. Pleasant 1 1/2 mile walk to Visitor Center. Lots of trails for walking. We stayed in a trailer in late May and will stay here again.
