Ok campground. Not much separation between sites.

We have stayed here several times, mostly in the full hookup sites. We love the level concrete pads, walnut trees and access to good walking trails. I would normally give a higher rating but upon this recent visit we were only able to get site nbr 21. Itwas muddy from recent rains and had a defective power post. Luckily we had a generator bc we got no response from camp staff in coming out to repair it. Still, we couldn’t start the generator early AM, so no coffee! We would definitely stay again but only in full hookup sites.

Park is nice, campground is just ok. It needs several truckloads of gravel to deal with the mud. Trees need trimming and the dump station needs to be redone. It is close to Des Moines, however.

Gorgeous setting, huge walnut trees, easy walk to river from the campground. Tip top stop, driving cross country. Great break from the highway noise of the RV parks beside 80. Would recommend!

Concrete pads. Super level. Watch your sites. Some have full hook-ups some don’t. We were surprised with electric only. Dump/ water area is tight. Cellular service is ok. Place is pretty small. They talk about showers, but I can’t find them. Only one small restroom building. Close to I-80. Pretty park. Well maintained.

Gorgeous setting- first time out in the FIT for car camping so a bit nervous.....had an electric spot so could charge phone- bathroom was clean and owls hooted. Small gripe- I had a $10 and wood guy couldn’t make change- I honestly thought a smile would get me a log but no dice.....

Absolutely beautiful state park. Largest natural walnut tree grove in North America. Nestled in SW Des Moines, right along Raccoon River. $14 electric. Dump available. Highly recommend!

A great place to stay on our first night en route to Arizona for winter. Ignore 21 ft. RV length limit. We easily fit at 47 ft. truck + fiver.
