~clean showerhouse ~GPS can get you lost you DO NOT want the directions to the PRIMITIVE sites....these are the MODERN sites ~lake is nice for fishing or renting boats, etc. ~BEWARE of the RACCOONS!! They steal things during the daytime and nighttime ~Nice park ~Good sites ~Bathroom/showerhouse very clean ~beach area if very nice

Nice campground. Scenic drive through the forest to get to the site. I didn’t know Iowa had this many trees. Site 33 is not very level, but we made it work. 50 amp power pane looked new and with full hooks up and a modern bathroom/shower room nearby, this place is a great deal at $23 ($19 per night + 4 dollar online service fee). Be warned that after the sun goes down the gnats are pretty intense as they swarm around you, but that is natural around bodies of water in the Midwest. Bring some spray.

This is such a gem. Walk right down the hill and you are on the lake! Great trails (morning sun was so sparkly on the water)and the sites are clean and well maintained. The bath house was clean each day. The dumping station and fresh water is right at the entrance. We will go back again, but next time with our kayaks!
