Iowa doesn’t see campgrounds the same way Michigan does, for example. Never anyone on site. Trash receptacle was spilling over. Bathroom closed for cleaning in the middle of the day. Having said that, the actual park is amazing, with great hiking and views nearby. So, it averages out to a 4. I still think Iowa needs to upgrade their camping game.

Pros: Wonderful location on the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River. Nice trails that can be accessed right from the campground. Conveniently located near Effigy Mounds National Monument. Cons: Granted, we arrived at the end of Labor Day weekend so camp hosts and staff may have been too busy. But our campsite #11 had trash strewn about and the fire ring was full of trash and cigarette butts. Disgusting! Worse than that, the site itself was very sloped and it was almost impossible to level our trailer. If you have a choice, avoid site #11 !

The gramd cayon of the midwest! The veiw is breathtaking! Not far from prairie du chein Wisconsin,and Marquette Iowa. One of the few place you can cross the Mississippi River! Located just down the hill is the place the Ringling brothers were born and had their first circus! The town of MC Gregor is full of wounderful history. Very clean area! Its a must stop for anyone traveling! Lots to do in the area. Take a few days and enjoy your visit! Font pass it up!

Lovely, clean, very nice. We tent camped with our two dogs. Took a short drive over to Effigy for some great hiking and spectacular idea of the mighty Miss!

Lovely park. Breathtaking views. The lot I was on took some serious leveling measures. The showers were ok. I wish pressing the shower button would give me at least 20 seconds of water flow.

A beautiful little Park. Lots of trails wonderful view of the Mississippi. Clean bathrooms well cared for sites. Would give 5 stars but the sites are not very level. Plan to come back when we have more time to spend here.

Beatiful view of Mississippi riv r. Lots of good trails. Sites vary quite a bit for level. May need some levelers.

Such a nice and clean park. The views and the trails are unreal.
