Horrible sites and lazy hosts. Bike trails are great if you are a professional mountain biker; not for beginners.

Mike and Cheryl here. We have a 44 foot Class A RV. Here is my review of the campground at Fort Yargo State Park Campground. Getting to the campground is all on good roads. It is far enough away from Atlanta to stay away from the traffic jams. The roads in the campground are paved and in good condition. Trees are all trimmed back so they do not hit the motorhome. The campground office was open and everyone were friendly. There is a small camp store. There is a large area for parking while checking in. Fire pits and firewood is available. Our site was 8, a back in site with a picnic table, fire pit and great water view. Our site was level. The site was dry. The site was gravel and large. The campground has no seasonal folks. The bath house is nice. No laundry. No pool but they do have a beach area. No recreational center. There is no restaurant on site, but the campground is close to town. No Cable TV service. No Wifi. Over air antenna got several local channels. No road noise.
Our site was long and wide. Lots of room. The grounds were well maintained and looked nice. There is good spacing between each site. All the sites along the lake are the best. I like site 8 but 7, 6 and 5 are nice. We would come back. Dream Big, Travel Far, Live Well...

This is a very nice campground. Sites beside the lake have beautiful views. We camped with friends on 5 & 6. Worked great. Didn’t do much at the park, but it looks like mountain bike heaven. Definitely worth looking at.

Fort Yargo is a great park period. Very convenient a number of stores and supplies just down the road. As others have said well maintained, mostly level sites a few were tight for a 40ft 5th wheel and 4 door long bed dually but was able to set up in a site listed at 30 feet without any extra effort. Had trouble with Sprint Hotspot, but AT&T worked well. Not much interaction with Camp host here but sure they would have helped if needed. Showers were hot and bathrooms clean, what more can you ask for? The only complaint was as of Dec 2020 the road is down to one lane it was a bit tight for our nearly 60ft rig. I assume the road work (bridge work) will be completed in a month or so. Enjoy the many hiking trails or Lake heard the fishing was good for crappie and large mouth bass.

Friendly welcoming staff and well maintained park. Bathrooms were really clean and many trails for running, hiking, biking and a nice lake for paddling. The park is surrounded by many stores and restaurants to meet your needs.

Wonderful campground. Nice level gravel sites. Very clean bathrooms that were nice and warm since it was in the 30s when we were there. Beautiful lake that someone said was great fishing. Wish we had our kayaks with us and it was a little warmer and we would have paddles around the lake. Definitely will come back here. Not far off I-85.

Great campsite! Flat level gravel lots. Lots of room between spots and tons of things to do. Swimming, boating, miniature golf, the staff was very friendly and we could not ask for a better stay. This is close to home and has become our default park to go to when we need a quick get away! Most spots have gravel picking area fire pit with grill and full hookups. Very quite and very peaceful. We will obviously stay here again.
