This was our first time here. We live locally and this was nice close weekend get away with some Friends. The park is very easy to get to with many things to do or not do when you get there. The entrance to the park has a pretty step downhill grade as you head into the park.. the roads to the individual sites are paved but not very wide with several tight turns and low branches.. it’s pretty tricky unless you are on the lake facing sites.. doable but you have to pay attention to what you are doing. We were 4 groups getting together and we were in camping area 3. The lots are gravel and well maintained but 3 of the 4 lots were not very level at all.. flat yes, but the 3 had pretty good grades for leveling back/forth.. depending on your rig’s length it could be a problem. I had to move my rig 2xs to get it to an spot where I could park it and get it level. I was on 213 and the water pressure was very low. Couldnt use it as a ciity water hook up. Ended up filling my tank and using the rigs pump.. Power was fine. The grounds are very well kept and clean. Lots of shade.. we will come back but I’ll know now what spots to book/grab when I check in. Look forward to the pool.. Overall not a bad place but not great either. The reservations are not site specific so call ahead and see when you can check-in so you can get a good site

Nice state park, wooded with nice spaces. The small lake is nice and is a good spot to watch the sun set. 50 amp hookup with quite a few pull through spots.

Stayed here 4 nights in mid-November. The fall colors were lovely. The spaces are large and well spaced. Many of them were by the lake or have a lake view. Park staff were friendly and helpful. There are hiking trails nearby.

Beautiful state park. We are on the back loop away from the lake. Level granite sites, water, and 30and50 amp at most. Facing the pine tree forest surrounded by 25 miles of hiking trails. Spaces are a good distance apart so it feels sort of private. No cable, could not get the satilight to lock on, no laundry.
I will absolutely be back here next year for a longer stay.
Stayed in late July 2016 in a 36 foot class a.

Beautiful sites surrounding lake Franklin. No sewers, but sites do have water & Elec. It can be along drive from the South entrance to the campgound. Don't be afraid to tavel on U S 27. Traffic is lifht with few trucks, and the road is excellent.
