Mike and Cheryl here. We have a 44 foot Class A RV. Here is my review of River Bend Campground. Road to: If you are coming from the south, all roads are curvy and steep. I would not recommend driving from Helen to campground. Way to steep. Come from Clayton. Road inside: Paved and gravel and in good condition. Trees: All well trimmed. Check in: Medium size office short distance from entrance. Everyone was friendly. Parking: Large parking area. Seasonal campers: Yes, but everyone has a nice place. Signage: good Site H13: Gravel pad, but level. Had table and fire pit. View: Fantastic because I pulled in Site spacing: Very Good Bathhouse: Nice. Laundry room: Nice. Swimming pool: Closed. Club house: None. Fitness area: None. Grounds: Good. TV: None. Wifi: Fair. So here is the bad: None. Sites B33, A33, A25, A26, C-1 thru C-6 are all good. I would come back. Visited Oct 5-12 2023. Check in was ok, office people could be a little more pleasant but I’m sure they were overwhelmed as park was full . Campground was beautiful, fall foliage had started. Great location for exploring Helen GA, Bell Mountain ,Brasstown Bald (highest mountain in Ga), Unicoi State Park, ect. Campground was clean, nicely decorated for fall , nice laundry facilities. Site was nice, a bit unlevel and sites are close together. That being said we met some wonderful people and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would definitely return to this campground.

In this crazy year of COVID 19. This campground will not refund a deposit that was paid for a camp out during an event that wa cancelled due to the virus. I could understand keeping the deposit if I cancelled during the event, but the entire event was cancelled and still the campground will not give back deposit. I camped here for 2 years during past events and loved it but I can not see camping here again. The front office lady stated that the owners have lost thousands of dollars so they have to recoup as much as possible. BAD BUSINESS!!!!!!

This is a well maintained park with a flowing river behind a number of sites. The float was refreshing but an exit step would be a great major addition. The bathrooms, showers and pool area were very clean. The interior roads and sites are all gravel. However, there were far too many people having to move mid-stay that should/could be minimized in my opinion. If you’re following your GPS be careful mine wanted me to take some kinda crazy route, call ahead to get good directions.

Totally agree with prior 5 star rating. We’re here for the second year of stunning fall colors. Lovely full hookup sites in a scenic mountain setting. Family owned and run! Nice wide driveways, level sites. We’ll be back next year!

I have to say that this is one of the best campgrounds we have ever stayed in! Nice wide spots and beautiful mountain views! The staff is the most accommodating and friendly too! We have already made our reservations for next year!!
I highly recommend this beautiful place!!

Very quiet, nice park. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Must have the Mayfield hand scooped ice cream at the store. We plan to go back in the future. Sites are wide and fairly level. We backed up to the Hiawassee river. Water was kinda low due to the summer drought but if you wanted to venture down to the bank and wet a hook, there was plenty of water for that. If you have an extra day, visit Tate City...you will have to ask directions. I don't think GPS has the coordinates. Take your camera.
