I have mixed feelings about this park. For the positive first. Camp sits are kept clean and are on level gravel. I recommend staying at the Big Brook loop as the sites are a little larger, slightly more spaced out and have full hookups with bathroom nearby. Campground is well maintained and rental cabins appear to be in good condition. There are a lot of activities but there are short windows of opportunity for some and all have a pricey extra fee. The have a free shuttle bus to Helen that I only learned of on my last day there. There is an easy trail that goes around the lake. Campsites have a LOT of tall thin trees so plenty of shade. I wouldn't want to be there during heavy winds however, very high liklyhood of being hit by a falling tree. For the negatives. Camp sites are about 1/2 mile from lake. Bathroom was only cleaned on Monday so by the weekend it was pretty rough. AT&T only got 1 weak bar, no digital TV reception and free unsecured WIFI only available within arms reach of the welcome center. The lake only has access from 6 small fishing platforms with heavy brush growth around the rest of the perimiter. If you want to fish I recommend using a boat. The fishing platforms and other park structures are showing their age and need updated. $80 camp fee was overpriced from similar a better locations I have been.

Unicoi is a nice state park. Lots to do in nearby areas. We were in site 19, on the big brook loop. Full hookup. It has a brook running behind it; very nice. The down side; the sites are not very deep; If you have a larger rig, this is the only loop of sites that you will fit. We have a 37’ fifth wheel, and we had to park our tow vehicle at an angle to get off the road. Camp host’s are very nice! If not for the site length, i would give it a 5 star.

We had a really nice time at the beautiful state park. Our RV site had a stream running through the back. The park had nice walking paths which were lighted at night. There was nice playground for kids, and a dog park.

Very nice park. Campsites are pretty close together. In campsite 19, full hookups, level. Clean bathrooms. Lots of activities both in the park and in neighboring Helen, Ga.

Great place to stay while exploring North Ga mountains. Nice trails for walking. Sites clean and fairly level. Bathrooms, maintained by lodge personnel, were very clean.

Stayed two nights in Hickory Hollow, the walk-in tent section. $25/night. We chose site #53, perched above a small creek that flowed down to Unicoi Lake. Clean restrooms across the parking area. Visitor's Center/Trading Post within walking distance for your supplies (and free laundry facilities). Beach is about a half-mile hike (cold water). Price a bit high, but the park seems well-kept. We enjoyed our stay.

I dont know why someone gave 1* only but dont take it as review at all!!! Depend that loop you are probably. We have first loop by office and level sites full power and water! tables and grill plus nice trees all over for shade and hammock. restrooms few steps from site and no problem at all!! $20 for tent but it is walk in!! $40 for our site by first loop and it is kinda lot but perfect all the way. wood is $6 and 10lbs ice for 2,50$ so it is location probably thats why

Unicoi State Parks is a "pit"....bathrooms were an inch deep in bugs and the staff at the check in point were not much help. Glad we were traveling and only stayed there one night.
