Host had 3 dogs tethered outside their trailer. Both mornings we stayed there (May 21-3, 2018) the dogs started barking at 7 a.m. They barked more-or-less continuously until my wife complained to the host at 2:45 p.m. the first day. Very inconsiderate of the host to allow the dogs to disturb the paying campers. In several hundred nights of camping during the last 4 summers this is the worst experience with poor host action/inaction. We also complained to management. We will not return.

Quiet gated campground with tall pine shade. Large sites with many facing wooded areas. Small playground and a Heritage Center (closed on Sundays) , but not much else for activities. Does have a boat ramp to access Altamaha River, but no riverfront RV campsites. Friendly staff. Nice place for an overnight stay.
