Excellent choice for CG in Metro Atlanta area. Quiet. Very responsive staff.

We arrived Wednesday 20th, 2019 at about 6:00 pm. We reserved for 7 nights. Yes, cash or check only. I find that a bit quizzical. The daily rate is $45 per day. I didn't bother to check weekly or monthly. The gentleman at the office was cordial; but not overly indulging in giving out information prior to asking. We had to extract information as a dentist does a bad tooth. It could have been aloooong day for the hombre. No worries. Our home FT, Tortuga Grande is a Fleetwood, Bounder 35K with tow, close to 55.5 ft long. No, we did not get a pull thru which I don't believe they have. Oh well, unload our car by the office and unhooked our tow dolly by the space in the 70s facing the lake, back in, not bad. We find the placing of the electrical box and water a bit crooked. I had to strong arm my 50 amp plug cause there is a 4x4 piece of wood interfering with plugging in. I made it work. I also, had to add some extensions to the water spout, no big thing, functional. Unfortunately, our space was literary right next to the main road and traffic noise was annoying. Especially, the morons driving way beyond the 10 mile an hour restriction. They are some kind of special stupid! I figured with the numerous do's and dont's list/text you receive at check in, you would have someone, anyone... spot checking the culprits with no speedometer in their car/truck/simile. }:)> I do like the quiet hours from 10:00 pm to 10:00 am. Again, the some kind of special illiterate stupid people, decide to speed during the early morning hours. As you observe on Google maps and others, the grounds are spacious. The spaces are about the average of closeness in comparison to other CG. It was fine. You'll find some of the permanent spaces much wider and longer than the fly by night cats that come in or the weekend warriors, (weekeners, as I call them!) I am not done. I will finish later. my wifey wants to go walk. BE back later tonight. Hello, I am back. We walked all over the place; every hill and cranny of the CG. It is quite large and it does have beautiful scenery. You can walk around the lake. If you are enervated, they have several lovely, red, two person or 3 thin gangly or very thin individuals that can share the swinging benches around the lake and here and there in the CG. I have included many photos for you to get a scope of the grounds. I'm a bit disappointed, not to gripe, of the cost. Since, traveling FT through the USA; there are many CG at less cost with many more amenities. I did not find a laundry room, showers, bathrooms, etc. Some had cable. Overall, it provided what I needed for the exact time of our stop. We will continue traveling southwest toward CA. I know! why CA? Familia is in CA. Well, I hope I included enough info and photos. If anything else is note worthy, I will come back in and revise/edit.. Tortuga Grande Blessed beyond all my expectations

I have stayed here for 6 weeks at a time for business. Very neat, peaceful and quite. Everybody who works here is very helpful and friendly. I'm already booked for July.

Nice, well-kept park. Employees were really nice. It was quiet (especially considering its location) and the lake adds a bit of peacefulness. Spaces were tight but we were not there for camping?, we were there as a hotel?. We wanted to be close to the Alpharetta/Cumming area and it was super convenient for us. We would stay here again.

Nice park with great view of lake. Close proximity to town and shopping. They have some nice wooded sites, which seem to be mostly occupied by permanents, so if you're just passing through prepare to get stuffed into the gravel lot. On my particular site the water spigot was in an underground access box, which happened to be flooded, so I had to reach into about a foot of cold dirty water fumbling to get my hose hooked up. I'm sure this is not a reflection of the whole park but still an annoyance. Overall it's a nice park and fine for a night or two, but I wouldn't plan a longer stay here unless I knew I could get one of the nicer sites out of the gravel area.

Would give a 5 star if there were laundry facilities. Beautiful well kept grounds with plenty of doggie stations. Yes a little tight but not that big a deal for us in our 40' 5th-Wheel. Several full timers but everyone seems pretty neat and tighty. Will definitely come back should we pass through this area again.

Mostly full timers scattered up on a hill. If you are a overnighter, you park in a gravel parking lot very close to the RV next to you. Tight to maneuver. We pulled up and stopped to view the spot and 2 guys who were outside talking offered to move their trucks so we had enough room to swing in. FHU 50 amp, not level. We needed to stay one week but they only offer a daily rate or monthly rate. I think it was high price for a gravel lot. Stayed in 38' FW.

We stayed here 5 nights in October. Most of the good sites up by the trees are occupied by full timers. We stayed in the gravel area. Full hookups, very neat, very friendly staff, and nice little lake. Kind of crowded, but we were only there to shower and sleep. Our son lives 10 minutes away. Can't beat the location. Will definitely stay here again.

This campground is all about location, location, location. It is convenient to see all of the greater Atlanta attractions. From downtown to the North GA mountains. Yes the sites are gravel-sure beats that red GA clay. The back in sites have lots of room for awnings, mats and chairs. You can take an evening walk down by the beautiful lake. Yes the water hookup is underground-great for the below freezing temperatures on the occasional winter night. The owners and workers are friendly and helpful. We have stayed here many times and will be here many times in the future. We have a 40ft motor home pulling a car and have never had a problem getting around the campground. We have been on the lake and yes they do not have a sewer but the dump station was not a problem.
