This COE campground has most sites right next to the lake and are on mostly level paved parking pad with gravel pad adjacent, a few have wooden decks. Roads are narrow with no shoulder, beware of curves. I was surprised how little the camp hosts did around the park. We were there 4 days and never saw any sites cleaned after someone left and all sites looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. All Bathrooms were in desperate need of a good cleaning, no hand soap dispenser. ATT has 2-3 bars LTE, no Wi-Fi available and very few digital TV channels. Close to a railroad with train about every 3 hours and I-75 traffic noise is always noticeable. Two dump stations but are so close together only one can be used at a time and water hose does not have a threaded connection so you can’t flush the black tank. No dog relief stations. Lake is drained very low in fall/winter and fishing from shore is tough, good luck.

We had one of the best sites in the park right on the lake.
Our site #46 was a back-in and fairly level. We ended up staying here a extra night and the gate attendants were very helpful to which we were very grateful. Nice and relaxing spot with more than
5 miles of paved roads to ride our bikes. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. Verizon cell service was good and over the air television good. Make sure to bring ant spray or you will have tiny guests. Terro in the camper handled them fine

Gate closes at 9 pm !! We had reservations and due to weather we were running late so I called to see what their after hours checkup was. They said the gate closes at 9pm and does not and can not be opened till 7 am the next morning. They said we could stay in the parking lot with no power hookup and wait till morning if we were arriving after 9 pm. Might be a nice location but crazy to not have any after hour check in.

Stayed here for 4 nights and had a dead tree land on my trailer. No help from the campground host but when I called to make sure the insurance agent could get in the gate was told the ranger needed to look at our damage. Lots if shooting noise nearby and the bathrooms needed soap and a good cleaning.

Great COE Park. Camped right on the lake. #98 Laid out like other Corp parks in that sites are often at an angle to back in to but really level once you get backed in. Nice sites with asphalt pad, pea gravel sitting area with Fire Ring, wooded areas between sites. 50 amp. Didn't use bath house but rest of park is super clean & well maintained. Perfect for visiting family in the area. Close to lots of services (market, gas, firewood). Recreation.gov site is very easy to use if you plan ahead & make reservations ahead. If needing a quick overnight spot it works but a longer stay to enjoy the quiet is great.

First time staying a weekend at McKinney's. Not at all disappointed with the staff or grounds or site sizes. All sites had plenty of vegetation between them that you need not see your neighbor's child peeing in the woods. Fishing was non-existent. First I thought it was me. Next I blamed the location in a cove. Then several boats with several fishermen did not get a strike so I did not feel so incompetent. Restrooms were clean and working order. They are a bit away from campsites, but you can go to their reservation site and choose how close you want to be to bath houses and Lake Allatoona. We will return next year.
