The Army Corp or Engineers, and Recreation.Gov are no longer in charge of Old Federal campground. You now have to book through the Hall County, Georgia Recreation and Leisure website, and you DON’T get the 50% discount with your America the Beautiful or Access automatically like you used to and do at other ACOE campgrounds when booking through the Recreation.Gov reservation page. Now you have to jump through hoops to get your 50% discount after your credit card was charged. You now have to send an email to a Hall County bureaucrat with your pass information, confirmation number, etc., where they will then evaluate it and issue a credit to your credit card.

Beautiful! By far one of the best campgrounds we have stayed at! We have stayed at over 30 campgrounds in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana and this one is in the top 3! Fairly level sites with beautiful views of Lake Lanier. Picnic table, lantern hook and fire rings at each site. No sewer hook up as it’s directly on the lake. Bath houses and laundry facilities on site. Beaches at the sites and a public beach as well. Friendly staff. Pet friendly. Highly recommend!

This is without a doubt the nicest campground we've stayed at. Most spots are on the water. They also have nicely mowed grass and some trees. Campground is VERY clean. Nice level spots also. We did some driving around to pick out our favorite spots. We stayed at spot #70 which is without a doubt the nicest spot in the whole campground. We will be returning September 17th and will be staying for 14 days. Can't wait. In my opinion the 3 best spots are 68, 69 and 70. Actually any spot in the loop we stayed at (spots 62 to 75) are awesome. We also liked 33 and 61.

Nicest federal or state park we have stayed in. Most sites are on lake, level, very clean and spacious. With our annual NP pass our cost was $10/nite. We will be back and stay longer next time.
