Nice campground. Very clean bathrooms and nice laundry. We stayed in equestrian section which was fun to see the horses

Campground is par with Florida State campgrounds it is sufficient. But Kayaking the river is 1 star:( … lots of debris from falling trees. Hard to run up or down stream trying to navigate around and through the trees and limbs.
The state needs to clean up the river if they want kayaks to run it. It could be very nice. But other than that it was an enjoyable stay.

Stayed here Feb 21 for one night in a 27' TT. Bath house is STILL being renovated. Very small and quaint campground - good privacy between sites. Looks like it is mainly geared toward those who ride horses.

Bathhouse is being renovated and a trailer is being used as a replacement (March 2019). Not a pleasant experience. The sites are all on a sort of sand/mud base that sticks to everything in the morning after a heavy dew. Site are well spaced and private.

This is a wonderful small campground in a state park along a river. Some of the spaces are close together, but all have lots of shrubbery around them making you feel that you're alone in the palmettos and oaks of an old Florida forest. Wildlife is all around - armadillos live near the camp host's space, gopher tortoises roam along the roadsides munching on the grass, deer play near the playground just down the road within the park. The volunteers and rangers are so nice to visit with, it's like coming home to family. Right now they have temporary bathrooms with showers set up in space 21. They also have a laundry next to the closed original bathhouse. Walmart is within a few miles and several really good restaurants in Sun City Center. Florida is hot and muggy in the summer, but this would be a wonderful place to be in cooler weather.

Please note that if you don't have a reservation and arrive after 5:00, you aren't allowed to camp even though there are sites available! In all my 25 years of camping, never have I run into that. Very disappointing especially since it was at 8 pm and had search and drive to another campground. Looked like a great place. That policy needs to change.

Nice camping spots with wildlife. We rented a canoe and saw lots of turtles. We are impressed with FL State parks, great price, helpful people and clean parks.

Very, very, nice State Park. We had an "Oasis" site with plenty of shade and greenery. We would definitely stay at the Campground again.

Lots of trails and turtles. Every where we went we saw different turtles. The trails were not maintained well because of all the trees. We even came across a litter of baby water turtles. There are a lot of bike trails, but they can be real wet after rain and with all the fallen trees it can be real hard to go any where. I will come back in the winter again to see if its any different.
