Like most Fam Camps in the DOD these days, they are just not putting any money back into the upkeep and general maintenance anymore. This is a multi million dollar property that is run down. Septic doesn’t work in some spots, other spots are taped off with police tape, electrical boxes trip on a regular basis (make sure you have a watchdog), and the general appearance is unkept. With all that being said, the staff is good and the place stays pretty full. Location is key and spots here are feet from the water. Wash house and laundry were adequate and mostly clean. We are full time and ended up staying a month. $1200 a month in July 2024.

Do not put the address from military camping ing apple maps!! It will take you to a road dump! Follow the signs to lakeside drive ir ti the base trc area. The suted ate nice, the views ste great, quiet and peaceful. Grab lunch dinner etc before you arrive l.

Stayed here the second and third week of March, 24. They assigned us full hook ups at number 27. As soon as my husband hooked up to dump, the sewer connection was clogged. He reported this to the office, and they claimed they knew about it for sometime. So why didn’t they stick us somewhere else? The folks running this camp don’t seem to care, and it’s evident in the campground. The laundry is inexpensive and functioning, at this point. Picnic tables are held together with duct, tape, and bungee cords. Grills are rusted out for the most part. There is some road noise from the bridge going across the bay, but not a big nuisance. It would not take much effort to make this a nicer facility.

Stayed here first 2 weeks in February, the restrooms are absolutely filthy they have a sign off sheet in Men’s, Women’s and Laundry for cleaning and the only one signed off was 3x for the men, I called the office they said they would note that I called ??The grounds are very unkept I have a rusty pole where a grill should have been on our site and of course I fell into it scraping and scratching my arm and chest. The rates are $35 without sewer and $40 with I wouldn’t recommend this place and to get to Destin you have to pay $4 each way to cross the bridge

Nice water views and beaches to walk on. Unfortunately lots of rain while we were there. Staff amazingly friendly. The squirrels can knock out your power so be prepared. Not too far from Elgin or Hulbert if you need to use their services. Quick drive over the bridge to get to Destin and Crab Island ($4.00 each way to cross the bridge). There is a private beach managed by Eglin in Destin ($5.00 to park) if you don’t want the crowds.

Great spot on the bay. Bathrooms and showers were clean and everything worked. Beautiful trees with lots of Spanish moss. There is some noise from the bridge but it didn’t disturb us. There's a beautiful area just outside the campground in the day use area that’s perfect for sunsets.

Nice small park right by the water. Sites are spacious, level but sandy. Some low branches but got our 44ft 5th wheel in with no issues. It’s right by the bridge so there’s traffic noise but not enough to keep us up. 2 small but cheap laundry rooms. Didn’t utilize bathrooms. Everything you need near by. Close to Destin. Good walking for the dogs but off limits to the beach & other areas, which makes no sense. We could never get our dish satellite to connect properly because of the tree coverage. We would definitely come back again.

Great staff here that are warm and friendly. The sites are large and are nice. However there is little maintenance to the place, they have allowed trees to grow limbs that are hanging over the roadways, and their power lines in areas are low hanging- be aware of everything when bringing your rig into the campground

Great spot on the water in Niceville. Large pull through spots and the staff is great. The park has the ability to go full hookups on a few spots but can’t because the tanks need to be serviced and possibly replaced. The bathrooms and facilities are a little dated but work well and are maintained. WiFi service worked better than at parks we paid $70 a night for!! Overall, if you can access it then use it. The sewer hookup issue kept it from being 5-stars.
