We come to this park almost every winter. We love the shaded spacious campsites, walking, biking, kayaking, fishing, wildlife viewing. Other than airboat noise primarily on the weekends, this is a very quiet park. Even in February, the weather is usually nice - sunny with temps around 70. It can be windy so we avoid kayaking those days.
There are plenty of spots for big rigs. Book early as this park is always full in the winter. Choose an outer loop site for the most privacy and wildlife viewing.
The huge live oaks and pines shrouded in moss are lovely. There is an old fashioned cow camp complete with an impersonator on the weekends which is fun to visit.
We've been to dozens of Florida parks and this is our favorite-the only one we keep coming back to.
It is about 25-30 minutes away from the nearest full service grocery and restaurants so stock up before coming.

Have stayed here in our 32 ft m/h. Love the place . We take our boat & fish & ride the lake & canals . Not much else to do here . Lots of nature & animals. lovely shaded & vegetation to separate you & your neighbors . Staying on the outside of loop affords better animal viewing ! Town is quite a stretch so come w everything you need !!!!! We stay here 4-5 times a year ( live 1 1/2 hrs away ) bathrooms are fine !
