Excellent, clean campground with friendly staff and privacy between sites. It is located perfectly for quick access to eastern Everglades trails and the Ernest Coe visitor center. We were able to easily attend multiple ranger-led activities within 5-10 minutes of the campground, and there is even excellent ranger presentations within the camground at the ampitheater. It is located about 1.5 hours from the Shark Valley area and 40 minutes from the Flamingo area. Bring your own food as it is quite a drive, however it is completely worth it to be immersed in a beautiful natural setting that is dark and quiet at night. It is dry camping and was slightly muggy and buggy in late February, but still totally doable. We would absolutely return!

Nice campground Sites spaced way apart. At first we thought terrible site because pad was on wrong side of site but they don’t care about you parking on grass bathrooms clean. It can be hard with no electric so no ac but even though mid 80s during day it cooled down at night and I had a light blanket on. Will come back here again

What a wonderful place to camp in the winter! We were here on our first trip to Florida, and wanted to see it all, so we've spent almost 2 months in the state working and sight seeing. Our week in the Everglades was our vacation week and it did not dissapoint. The campground hosts were such amazing people, and everyone with the Flamingo group were just awesome. The park was so clean and well kept, and the bathrooms were just awesome. I couldn't say 1 negative thing about the place. There is for sure no power at this campground, but if you're in a self contained rig, it didn't really matter for us. Awesome Awesome Awesome

Enjoyed our stay here. Large sites sheltered by vegetation, level, concrete pads, ranger presentations. A few mosquitoes after dark in February, not bad. Drove down to Flamingo and the mosquitoes were much worse. No hookups or it would be five stars. It was nice to have south Florida weather in February without south Florida busyness. The route in through Homestead is anything but direct; follow your GPS.

The sites are huge, although the concrete pads are not. They let you park whatever way you want to maximize your experience. Although there are no hookups, the showers and bath houses were fine. We loved our time there. It’s quiet (when people aren’t running their generators), and wasn’t buggy for us. We were in site 92 and happy with it. We drove to Flamingo, 35 miles down the road, and there were tons of mosquitoes there. We were super happy we were at LPK.

No hookups. Lots of hippie tent people who make a mess of everything. Horrible.

Some reviewers seem confused. There is absolutely no ocean view from Long Pine Key. Small lake. Look at park map. Flamingo CG maybe if you count bay as ocean. Have stayed at Long Pine numerous times with no mosquito issues in January or February. Stayed just once at Flamingo because they were horrible.

Great location to hiking and sites are very private.

We lucked out and stayed here for one night march 21 st and it was great! Not one bug, breezy, cool at night, beautiful moon, not crowded, very quiet. Went back the next week, the no seeums were bad at noon and hot! Didn’t stay. Use your senior pass for free entry to park and $18 camping.

Very nice spacious sites... however.... the bugs and mosquitoes were horrible! Even in the heat of the day they were swarming all over! No sprays worked and screens didn't keep them out! We could hear them in our ears and feel them bumping and biting us all night long! We were INSIDE of our RV with the windows open but screens shut - we have nice screens - and They still got in! No hot water at the showers and the stalls were (of course) packed with mosquitoes! We prepaid for two nights and ended up regretting that because we left after just one - even though they don't give refunds! Wish they would let you run a generator past 8 pm here so we could have shut our windows and run the ac. Would have been nicer for sure- we like nature but NOT mosquitoes!
