I called Manatee Springs State Park to reserve a campsite for same day arrival. The Ranger informed me that there were 3 sites available, but I needed to call Reserve America to reserve a site. Reserve America informed me that they only had walk-in sites available, and I could not pay in advance to reserve a site for today. I was 200 miles from the Park, and it was possible that by my arrival, the available sites may be booked, or they may sit vacant overnight. I chose to reserve a site at a private campground that would accept my same day reservation. Where is the common sense in this policy? I can't give a 5 star review when I wasn't able to reserve an available campsite!

Nice campground.well spaced sites. Good and hot showers. 8 miles of trails for biking/walking.
We were here mid December so it was cool at night, but we saw a half dozen Manatees from the boardwalk!
23 ft. Motor home and would stay again.

Spring was cool and clear but not much to see but a few fish. Bring snorkel gear. Grounds were well kept but if you bring pets beware or deer ticks. There are lots of Florida deer wandering through the grounds and where there are deer there are ticks. After a 4 day stay, and only walking two small dogs on dirt roads and paths, I found 4-5 ticks on each dog during the 4 days. Even though it was cool to see the deer and swim in the springs (I've seen prettier) we probably won't be back.

Campsites are spacious with full hookups. We took the guided pontoon boat tour on the Suwannee River and loved it! Playground is in excellent condition! Great BBQ place on site with wifi. Restroom and shower facilities were clean and well lit. Would definitely come back here again. Great for kayaking. Super Walmart is

Campground roads are unpaved. Campsites are also unpaved and sandy but otherwise well laid out and maintained. Good nature boardwalk out to the Suwanee River. Lots of wildlife. Bring your mask snorkel and fins for the spring!

Older, well cared for campground in a beautiful state park. Sites are nicely spaced among the trees. Loop roads and sites are packed sand. Bathhouses are clean and freshly painted but showing their age. The ADA showers in the Hickory Loop have latched doors - the rest, only a shower curtain. Park staff are friendly and helpful. Take an early morning walk on the boardwalk to the river and enjoy the wildlife.
