You pull in as about of state visitor and the dispersed camping has holes big enough to swallow a car. So you go down to the state park only to find out you need a special pass that is not sold there AND a reservation! What the heck?
Two charges for one site and no water either.
Why would anyone buy a yearly pass in September?
This system makes no sense to me.

Lovely location but no water. Must bring your own or drive to Salida or Buena Vista 10 miles each way.

Wonderful little campground with beautiful scenery. Level sides, clean pit toilets, right next to the river. $25 per night with a seven dollar daily access fee is a little pricey. Verizon service was spotty, but quite strong with a Weboost.

Beautiful sites, easy access via good road. Clean pit toilets, no water, electric, or trash bins. Boat ramp for float trips on Arkansas river. A little over priced at $18 per site plus $7 user fee.
