Booked 3 nights online for a 50 amp electric only site for $36/night. When we arrived at the campground we had to pay $10/day park entrance fee on top of the campground fee. Seems a little pricey for an electric only site. There was fresh water and a dump station as well as a nice view of the reservoir.

Warning to people wanting to fill up with fresh water. Two unfriendly park officers said you can’t get water unless you are staying in the CG, even if you pay the $9 daily use fee. I wasn’t dumping anything. Be careful with this listing, maybe the officers just wanted to push their considerable weight around, but it was unpleasant entirely.

Very nice cg with large sites spread apart. Some sites are sloping but many are flat. We were in site 45 which was flat and great views of the reservoir and the mountains. In late October we still had sunny days with temps up to 60. The surrounding sandstone cliffs are beautiful. Lots of mountain biking from easy to technical. Great fishing. Bathrooms were clean. Would definitely come back

This would be 5 stars for the mountain/lake views....however:
Colorado has upped their rates by 20-50%. I’m thinking $32-36/night for electric only (mostly old 30 amp, some old 50 amp) is too high.
The sites are not even close to level. We tried several.
The pull-through site pads are so narrow that no matter how good you are with a bigger rig, you’ll be off of the asphalt.
The roads and pads are crumbling.
While it’s nice to have some shade over your picnic table, sadly the shades are designed so you lose the mountain views while you’re eating.
This park has all of the potential of a true gem of a campground and state park. I hope the massive increase in fees means they’ll bring the campgrounds out of the 1970s and into the 21st century.

Perfect spring camping location. Loved the mountain biking and the visitor center was nice. People were friendly. We went to Anthony’s Pizza on the river walk and it was delicious. The wind was intense at times but we would definitely come back. 50amp service, mostly level site (48) with great views of the lake. Water was available but not at the site.

Good venue could be great if only they could control the moth problem. Over a three night stay in mid May we spent hours killing, maiming and shooing these pests out of our RV.

Windy, hi-desert enviro. Water no site specific. Definently a place for boaters.
