Because of a serious family medical situation we had to postpone our entire trip west. All of our cancellations were either simply canceled or charged a small fee since we are two weeks in front of the original arrival dates. Not so with Clear Creek RV park. They charged $76 ( cost of one night camp site) plus a $10 fee. I asked to them honor their "modification policy" and rent the same # (4) of nights only 2 weeks later. Their policy states: "Modifications can be made to reservations more than 72 hours prior to 1 p.m. check-in on the 1st day of reservation. Modifications that reduce the length of the reservation will incur a fee equal to a 1 day site fee at the daily rate, plus a $10 administration fee."The manager refused to make the modification and stuck me with the bill even though we were within the deadlines. Shame on Golden!

Location is everything. Small county park right on the banks of the Clear Water River. You can't beat the location. The park is very well maintained and staff is helpful, friendly. You can walk to everything in downtown Golden. Just a heads up ..... the foot, bike and tubing traffic along the bike path / river can get very busy and noisy sunup to sundown. Site access can be tight for some sites. When you are making a booking follow the length restrictions. Sites are close.

Nice secluded park. Next to clear creek. We could see it out our back window. Park is congested with little room between sites. Many sites don’t have sewer but dump station in park. Walk to Golden downtown . Nice walking trail also next to park. Laundry clean, showers clean (free). 20 minutes to Denver.

We needed a place to stay with our 25’ TT for a few days while visiting relatives in the area. Unfortunately, the Coronavirus had hit and the town of Golden was shut down.
RV Park was nice. Full hookups. $50ish a night. They were rebuilding the bathroom/showers so these were shutdown.
Sites were level. The bike trail goes just behind the RV Park and is awesome. Even though there was a quarantine in place, many people were out walking and biking, which was very refreshing.
Only real hassle was the water faucets. They are buried in a hole in the ground and positioned at the front of the campsite. Luckily I bring along an extra 25’ hose! I believe they have the faucet in a hole to help prevent freezing. Ours was full of water. I mean full! I had to reach down in the hole, in a foot or more water, and screw my hose into the faucet. Real hassle!! Plus, they have an electrical cord that is supposed to keep the faucet thawed. That was under water so it kept popping the 20amp breaker. This is where I plug in my electric space heater, so I had to unplug their cord. I reported this to management and they did nothing about it. Thank goodness I carry my own heat tape to wrap around my hose because it did freeze a couple nights.
Management was really nice. We sat in the office and chatted with them for the longest time. Really nice couple that runs the place.
I would stay here again for sure.

This campground gets its rating because of the location. Nestled next to Clear Creek with walking and biking trails. Walk to downtown with eateries and breweries and the Coors tour. The campground is small and tight. And a bit noisy from the highway. We didn’t use the facilities. Would def stay here again just because of the location. If you are a big rig call them to make sure you can fit into a site. We would stay here again just because we loved Golden.

Bring, buy, or rent an inner tube to float the river right by the campground. Dozens of people tubing and kayaking on this stretch of river. Great for older kids. Younger kids need lifejacket and close supervision.

Such a fantastic location!!! We used to live in golden and I loved to run on the clear creek trail which this is located right on the trail next to the creek. Make sure you book in advance! Fills up fast. You can walk to everything in Golden. Awesome little town with restaurants and shops. Spaces are definitely crammed in there but the location is worth it. Showers were fine. They had laundry but we didn't use it. Office is only open until 2 pm. They also have a recycling bin which is great.

Sites are crammed in there. Should be a third less sites in this space. Clean and friendly otherwise.
