Spoke to a gentleman yesterday morning. Gave him our rig size and requested two night stay. He said he would put us down for 50 amp site. Did not take cc info. Said we could pay when we arrived. Got there today at 2pm. Woman at desk went through old school paper reservation cards and said no reservation for us and no available spots. Showed her my phone history where I had made 2 minute call to them. 2She said, 鈥淭hat鈥檚 our number. Sorry.鈥 From reading some previous posts it seems this has happened to others too. Save yourself the trouble and book at the KOA a short distance away.

I called to see if they had a pull thru that we had a 40 ft RV plus a tow he said yes took my credit card info, we arrived and it was a rocky climb to get to the office and the guy says oh the other guy didn芒鈧劉t read my note we have nothing available now we had been on the road for 10 hours and was fried and the sites were like a homeless encampment and extremely tight. I did even want to give this park one star it was BAD!

Good little RV park. Friendly manager/owner. Does have steep entry drive with lots of pot holes and gravel. Well maintained shower/restroom facility. Most sites have trees for shade which was nice. Being built on the side of a hill, our site was a bit tight for our slide out on the utility side due to a rock retaining wall. This didn芒鈧劉t leave us much room on the other side of RV with opposite slide out extended, but feel that was a single site character. Overall, I芒鈧劉d stay here again.

A different layout of campground, built in the side of the hill above I-70. The driveway to the campground is rough and steep. The sites run across the hillside and are nice and level and well separated with a view of the hillside on the other side of the Colorado River. The traffic noise is constant but not too loud and the trains only go occasionally. Definitely good for an overnight stay, and the price is in line with other commercial campgrounds. They have nice toilets, no laundry, wifi is good enough.

Manager on the phone got upset when I asked if he could guarantee a particular site. I was not rude or demanding, just trying to understand his policy. He refused to book us even though I was happy with what he initially offered us. He hung up on me. I tried to call back to clarify, but he refused to pick up. Very strange and rude guy! In years of RVing, nothing like this happened before. It sounded a bit like the Bates Hotel and RV Park.

First impression was that it is rundown and dumpy. But it's ok if you only want a place to park your RV while visiting the sites (Aspen, Vail). The road is narrow and deteriorating and the campsites are on a hillside/ terrace. The gentleman who checked us need was very helpful. I recommend checking out the Glenwood Caverns and Amusement Park that is in town. There is a great view going up in a gondola and the caverns are amazing.

Nice views. Lots of permanent campers. Quite campsite but near I70. Didn't really bother use too much. Great place for a quick stopover. I would stay here again for sure. Not so sure I'd stay for several nights, but it was great for our overnight on our trip.
