We stayed Sept. 22-24th. This is our second time to this campground and we enjoy it very much. We had a site with electric, B 30, and it was a nice large site. Previously we stayed in a non-electric site B 9, which is right next to the river. Best reservable non-electric spots in my opinion are B9 and B 10, they back up to the river and there is a path between the sites to access the river.
For the best first come first serve site in my opinion is W 4. Nice rock outcroppings for the kids to play on.
We had no T Mobile during our stay. Had to go towards Bayfield or Durango for connection. Awesome night skies to view.
This campground is quiet, with beautiful, tall lodge pole pine trees.
The camp host, Dwight, was informative and very nice guy. Enjoyed meeting him.

Spacious sites, under tall pines, electric sites, water spigots strategically placed between several sites, very clean pit toilets. Trailhead at the end of the campground, easy access to the clear creek down steep banks, some folks cast fishing. Friendly hosts said next year is new bids for which company will run the campground. I hope it stays good. We’d return or sure!

Vallecito Creek is a raging river during snow melt. There is no cell service or wifi. The camp sites are large and exceptionally beautiful.
