This is an excellent campground. It's very clean, the prices are great and there is a little creek (in the summer it's not so wet) right on the grounds. I have never had problems with no cell service and if you're camping do you really want to sit on your phone?

Camping in an oak savanna off Middle Creek just north of Upper Lake. Forest Service campground at a OHV location. A little busy on the weekend but during the week, it was really quiet and lots of birds. We paid half price with Golden Oldie Pass - $4 each night. Central water and vault toilets that were kept clean by friendly camphost. Could be a 5 Star but there’s no cell service. 15 minutes to Upper Lake.
