I’ve been going here since I was about 13 with my grandparents. Early spring early falls the best time to go. Lots of good spots. Lots of good hookups only thing is post Covid there’s no store no laundry. All the staff very nice and the lake was full up.

Healthy change this year and there’s lots and lots of flies.

Beautiful oasis. We had a spacious lakefront site. Birds were amazing. Nice for biking.
Week day so not crowded and not many boats.
Cool breeze off the lake!
Lovely place to stop along the way.

Stayed one night dry camping in a class B. The park was 3% occupied so that was great. Spaces are large and spaced out. Used two concrete bathrooms and they were clean.
Paid $26 for the site. Was surprised to pay an $8 reservation fee when registering at the gate. Wrote to the Parks Dept and they called it an Administrative fee. I understand paying those when reserving online or over the phone. I would give it a 4 star without that fee. Also $5 for Fido.
It could wild here, a huge dirt area for overflow camping.

Our first time here at Webb Lake. Absolutely beautiful lake. Grounds were well kept. The restrooms were horrible - filthy, old and despicable!! Such a beautiful place but we won’t be back. Unfortunate!!

Large, flat, open campground next to a lake. Each site has quite a bit of space, and almost each one has a tree or two for shade. Very few people here midweek in October. Bathrooms are cinderblock construction and are showing their age, but are functional. Grounds are in good shape, but campers here seem to leave quite a bit of plastic trash behind (in the grass, gravel, etc.) Nice fire rings, metal picnic tables, concrete pads. Bakersfield has a fairly strong, pervasive smell of livestock, and when downwind, you will smell it all day and night at this campground. Easy access from I-5, I'd stay here again.

This is my second stay at Buena Vista, (see below from Nov 2016). I have not increased the stars but for different reasons. The grounds work is much improved over last year. Good job grounds crew. Staff at check in still top notch. Weather was way to hot. Of course its the desert I get it, but 105 during the day and 80's at night was miserable. Not a summer camp ground for me anyways. Camp sites are great here though we still had to pick up after the previous camper. County should start a new policy that if after you leave and they inspect your site and have to clean up after you then you will be billed or card charged for the effort. Lots of space between camp sites is a major plus here. Lots of boats this year but nothing out of control. Here's where the three stars come in. Bathrooms were horrendous! Tile was broken, floors were always wet, mold everywhere, and no lighting. Sinks were unusable as they were filthy. No doors on stalls and toilets were filthy as well. Come on Kern, get this under control. Now I don't use the bathrooms as we have an RV but for the other's that were tent camping or the children running around needing to use the bathroom, this is un-acceptable. We fished this year and though we didn't catch anything it was very relaxing.

It was okay for an overnight, but nothing special. $5 per dog per night really ruined it for me. At took a cheap $24 stay to $34 and it's not worth $34. Quite a bit of trash around.

Nice campground and will definitely go back. I only give it three stars for the campground maintenance. This could be a really great site except things are starting to look run down. Lake was not busy but it is Nov so that is really a plus. Weather was great. Staff at check in were very friendly and helpful. Grounds keeping needs to be heavily supervised or given the resources to keep up with all the work that needs done. Site was relatively clean but we did have to walk around and pick up trash left by previous camper. Great spacing between sites. Makes for a semi private experience and you don't feel cramped. Bathrooms were atrocious and in need of immediate repair and cleaning. Kern County needs to invest in this place to get it back up to a higher standard. Could be a great revenue maker for the county if it isn't already. Maybe that's why they haven't given it the attention it needs. We do plan on going back though and will see.
