We checked this place out but chose not to stay overnight in our 4-Wheel pop up truck camper. It's a very steep, and winding road. Up, up, up...I would not recommend for RV's or trailers of any size. The area has lots of trees, etc. In stark contrast to the surrounding desert...The campsites themselves, and signs, are beat up, falling apart, and look like they haven't seen any maintenance in years. We saw what looked like numerous locals just "hanging out". A little un-nerving. We just hiked around for a couple hours with our Lab instead and that was totally fine.Chose to come down off "the mountain" and check into lodging in Tehachapi.

Many of the sites here are on a hill side. Many others are not very level.

5 star for beauty, 1 star for usage in a camper or RV. Harrowing moments trying to turn around in a pop up truck camper with trailer. Would NOT recc for RV or trailers, great for solo popup truck camper or tents.
