Very nicely laid out campground and park near La Jolla, CA. There is a large lake, swimming, fishing, paddle boating, and a pool and hot tub. The showers and restrooms are very clean, and the ducks on the lake are wonderful. There are two downsides: the surfaces in the lakefront área are dirt, creating mud when it rains, and the wifi/internet (tangointernet, is non-functioning.

Matt - 3-2021: Spacious sites, clean restrooms and very well kept park. Lakes are a big plus, especially if you like fishing. Would have given 5 stars, but WiFi is sketchy if you don't have a site on top of a hot spot. Verizon cell signal is weak in spots. Still a great place for adults and kids.

Overall great experience. Sites had space, didn't feel like I was on top of each other, level for the most part. Quiet during the day and at night. Restrooms and laundry facility were available. No recycling just trash dumpsters. A nice walking path to go on a stroll with the dogs. Fishing is available if you want in the lakes. There are extended stay families but didn't bother me. Everyone's site was in good order. Will definitely come back.

Stayed here for two weeks while visiting San Diego area. Very convenient. Well maintained park. Large pull through sites with full hooks-ups. Stayed in 40’ motorhome with tow car. Paid internet worked well. Verizon service horrible. Similar to previous post. Lots of residents, so not as much interaction with neighbors as we normally would. Good value for money.

The campground has good size sites 70+ feet and mostly level. The amenities are adequate although some are shared with day use visitors. The lakes are nice and offer good walking trails although dogs are not allowed on trails around most of them. The park is gated and therefore feels very safe and secure. They do have quite a few extra fees that weren’t explained when we made the reservation but altogether still a good value for monthly stay in CA. The biggest con is that the park is predominantly occupied by full time residents. Unlike your typical RV full timers these are mostly families living in rv’s. The sites are mostly kept neat but it lacks a ‘vacation’ feel and therefore lack of neighbors with similar agendas.

ALOT OF PEOPLE!!! Place is very clean and well maintained. Hard for me to give it more than 3 stars cause it's in the city and it's like your staying in a parking lot. When camping here I don't get the (I'm on a vacation feel). A lot of full timers but they keep in looking clean.

Great place. There are a lot of full timers/extended stay folks. Very clean and well managed. Pretty good value for the area, not too far from very cool places to visit. We arrived late but there were no hassles getting set up as long as you arrive by 10pm. We stayed a few days in October. The weather was beautiful. Will definetly visit again. 36 foot MH and towed veh were accommodated without any problems.

Great location, facilities, and sites. The sites are sandy, mostly level (had to adjust slightly), and most will accommodate large rigs. We stayed 30 days in September 2015 in a 40' class A in site 242 and had plenty of room. Neighbors were quiet. The park is gated, but you're provided a code to exit/return at will. Wifi is provided but is heavily used and wasn't useful to us, even for basic browsing. Ants can be a problem, be prepared. Santee area has great shopping and restaurants.

Only complaint is the large number of "permanent" campers, only because they make it difficult to schedule here. After they stay 6 months, they leave for 2 weeks, then come right back. The "residents" call this the "site shuffle." This is an inexpensive way to live in sunny southern california, but it makes it difficult for others to visit the park. BTW If you want to stay 30+ day's call, don't book online. We'll be back again in the area in March 2016 (the next open slot at the Lakes) for another 30 day stay.

** Main entrance is on Fanita Parkway just north of Carlton Oaks Dr. It's easy to miss **

Lovely park, beautifully maintained. We were here mid-Sep & were prepared for ants, sprinkling Comet around our trailer's touchdown points as advised by the parks brochures. However, we saw none, but better safe than sorry. If you have kids, probably best to stay on the clubhouse side where the pool is, otherwise for quiet, like we prefer, choose the most eastern side, away from the "stream". It wasn't babbling when we were there, & was stagnant & a bit stinky. It is man made, using recycled water, so maybe there was a problem with it at the time.

Our only disappointment was the parks rule of no dogs south of the RV site area, so we couldn't go for a walk down around the lakes. Altho' allowed here, we never leave our dog unattended in a park, so it was a bit of a spoiler for us.

Level sites, excellent hook ups, fantastic wifi, and really nice staff. Altho approx 15 mi from San Diego, it's only a quick 15-20 min drive in on Hwy 52.

The park accommodates all size RVs. We were there in our 18' trailer, but we saw many large rigs.

Nice, beautiful, wonderful rv camping experience. Our site was next to a babbling brook. Lakes for fishing, hubby caught a large mouth bass just goofing around (15"). Only issue, and not terrible, is the ants. They will get in unless you come up with something innovative. I love this place; too bad it is 1100 miles away!
