San Mateo campground is inland with full Hookups. The bluffs campground is dry camping. Nice view of the ocean, but it's literally a parking lot next to train tracks I-5 and weigh station. It's sooooo loud day and night. Helicopters from Camp Pendelton also add to the noise. Only cold outdoor showers. Nuclear power plant less than mile away. good sunsets from the bluffs. beaches rocky and hard to access, nothing for kids to do.
(i copied the text of ShipTrip / every word was right!)
did not check out the surf but who wants to surf beside a nuclear power plant!?
Will not stay here again!
