We stayed April 27- May 3, 2023 in our Class C RV We stayed in site #15. Nice spot, close together, small general store, very well maintained. Parking room for RAV toad at site. Has 47 spaces. RAV battery was dead (left ignition on!!) but park worker thankfully got it jumped and going! Good pet and short walking area next to marina. Had dinner at Phil’s Fish in Castroville. Food was okay…didn’t seem to live up to reputation. We took a delightful boat tour of Elkhorn Slough on a battery powered catamaran with excellent guides. Saw many seals, otters, mammals, and various birds, esp. black cormorants. We also enjoyed a nice walk along Salinas River State Park and good to let our poodle off leash for some exploration. This is an excellent RV Park in a super location and we will return.

Small, clean and nicely kept KOA. Only two bathrooms. Each houses a toilet and shower so only one person at a time. Could create an issue. Spaces are snug but still have room for tow vehicle. Close to restaurants . We would stay again. WiFi good.

Very clean and organized KOA. Staff was friendly and greeted us with complimentary cookies and beverage koozies. Keep in mind that this is a KOA Express, so there’s not much in the way of activities here. Sites are built for function, not for a full camping experience. That said, all we needed was an overnight stop between San Francisco and Monterey, and this was perfect. Sites are level, nicely landscaped, and the laundry facility was in good condition.

I’m deducting one star because of price and cramped spaces, but otherwise this is a great park and I would definitely return. Very clean and easy access to the ocean and some nice restaurants.

The best thing about this location is that it is next to one of my favorite restaurants! The Haute Enchilada Cafe, is amazing and is the main reason for our stay here. Ok now for the info on this KOA. Clean, expensive and only has two bathrooms so there is a line of people waiting for the shower or to use the toilet in the morning.

Very well kept but...
- Back in only sites
- Sites extremely close together, neighbors sewer is right at your door
- no area for dogs
- 2 bathrooms for entire park
- I was surrounded by alcoholics on both sides of my rv that drank and partied nonstop for 2 days.

Earlier review is spot on and very thorough. I wanted to add a few notes on the highlights of this park for outdoor enthusiasts. It is located on the Elkhorn Slough which is a marine sanctuary. We kayaked up the slough and found tons of otters, seals, and every marine bird imaginable. I totally recommend this park if you like quiet beaches and wish to avoid the crowds. Yes sites are tight, but our 45' motorhome, jeep and kayaks fit just fine. We walked to three different restaurants all with excellent food. A very lovely 4 day stay. We will return!

Even though there are no amenities except a laundry (2 washers, 2 dryers), this is a very nice RV park and is well kept and clean however, a bit pricey. The location is fabulous! It's within walking distance to a Mexican restaurant and bar inside the restaurant and next door, Phill's Snack Shack, and close by Phill's Fish Market. All very good. It's also a good spot to use for visiting Salinas, Monterey, Carmel, and Pacific Grove. It is right next to a marina. There is good shopping in Salinas like Walmart, Costco, Kohl's, Best Buy to name a few. A little closer is a super Walmart off of hwy 1 (ask at the office how to get there). There are road side vegetable and fruit stands (at least during the season). The park is paved and the sites are concert. They are tight sites. It has cable, 50 & 30 amp for their full hookups and it's level. It has wifi but it appears not to work a good bit of the time. There are two unisex bathroom suites that are clean. The staff is extremely nice and have chocolate chip cookies what appeared to be every day. It has a small store with a few items you might need to include ice.
