Broad open area near the base of a small mountain. Mostly small gravel with very little vegetation. About 4 miles of fairly good gravel road with some wash-boarding. Very quiet but may have some off road vehicles (ATV, dirt bikes, etc). We were here during the week and there wasn’t anyone else within a mile of us.
It can get noisy during the day with the Navy jets doing training. The nearby Navel Air Station is the winter home of the Blue Angels and we got to see them practice.

We just stayed one night. It's not far off road, but slow going. The wide open spot is magical at night. The surrounding lights and quality sky for star gazing are incredible.
Good area to hike if so inclined.
