Anything under 25’ should fit here and I have no ideal why anyone would choose Sunset parking lot over this. Clean flushing toilets and drinkable water and views of the valley and mountains. Winter Time was quiet by 7. North side is back in but has better views. Lots of pull through style sites.

Updated: Stayed extra two nights (5 total) Mixture of tent and RV camping and I have no idea why anyone would choose Sunset parking lot over this. Some pull through can fit big rigs. Most will need some leveling. Spots go very fast. Clean flushing toilets and drinkable water and views of the valley and mountains. Winter Time was quiet by 7, even college kids. Coyotes were active most nights. 3G is active at night but data is too busy during the day. .

I love this desert camp site. I've stayed here twice so far and plan to return many more times.

It on a mountain and the views are beautiful. It's across the street from Furnace Creek Resort and the Information Center. It's also in the middle of the park so conveniently central to all points of interest. You can spend $5 at the FC Resort for a pool and shower pass. Good deal!

The view of the stars at night is amazing. My son felt like he was sleeping on the moon. I agreed. There are no trees to block your view of the sky at night.

I visited Yosemite before arriving in Death Valley. I was surprised that this campsite had better bathroom facilities than at Yosemite. Real flushing toilets! There are sinks and mirrors in the bathrooms, but I prefer to use the large water trough outside. It has a huge basin with several faucets and room to put toiletries, etc on a large shelf so it doesn't get wet or dirty from the ground.

Camping in the desert will dehydrate you. Be prepared to drink A LOT when you wake up. I downed 32 oz of water in a few minutes and still needed more.

Nice Spot with a nice view in the desert. But no shadow!

Our favorite spot in this area. There are quite a few sites with vegetation, especially in the first tent circle (first right when you enter the campground). There is a little creek and the sites are well spread out. This is a DESERT campground, flush toilet with washbasin, no shower, nice big washbasins where you draw water. It can get very windy, but not dusty--the ground is all gravel. Centrally located to many Death Valley must-sees. You can swim and shower at the resort for $5 per day. BRING YOUR OWN FOOD AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, prices at store are at least double.
