Ditto on being a big parking lot. Had good water and dump station. Not to many where camping when we were there. A lot of generator use, some all day. Great location for solar and exploring the area. Definately worth $7 for access pass. Felt safe and secure. Great hiking everywhere.

Agree with the other reviews. This is just a big parking lot, no hookups, but bathrooms and dish washing stations provided. There is a decent dump station and water filling station. This made our stay great. We pulled in empty and left somewhat fuller because of horrible winds. The location of this campground is perfect for site seeing in DV. It was almost full on the weekend, but the overflow areas were closed. We came in with a 35 foot 5th wheel, any size rig can fit in here. Smaller rigs should try Texas Springs first, it is up the hill and has more traditional campsites. Furnace Creek is the best campground, but you have to make reservations way in advance. Since we could not get reservations and because of our rig size we went with Sunset. No fire pits or tables provided, but you can use a propane fire pit. The winds kind of ruined the trip for us this time, but the pup fish were playing at Salt Creek and we got to see some up at Ash Meadows, too. Death Valley is a magical place for us, when it is not so windy. Cell coverage here is spotty at best, especially when it gets crowded. So don’t count on cell service while here. You can purchase a plan at the Oasis/Ranch across the street. We did not try it but it is there for sale.

This is just a big gravel parking lot with bathrooms. Spots looked level, but were actually on a slope. For a campground with no tables or fire rings, the sites seemed way too close together. Nifty electronic machine spits out a ticket and you can pick your site after you buy the ticket ($7 senior/ $14 other).

Large gravel area for all size campers. Nothing fancy. Tents, big rigs or toads. Nice clean flush bathrooms with outside sinks for doing dishes. No fires allowed. Dump station with flush water AND potable water. There is also a dump station just outside the park with same. Plenty of things to see and do. Great area for biking or hiking. For a $5 fee have use of a warm spring fed pool that is 84 degrees year round,at the resort across the road. Showers are also available at the pool. Restaurants and general store also nearby. We were here in January and the weather was great. 85 daily and 50 nightly. Price was $14 night or $7 with passes. Stayed here 2 weeks. One of my favorite places I have ever stayed. Stayed in a 31 foot motor home. There is a golf course for you golfers. This is an oasis in the desert that will not disappoint.

A huge gravel parking lot. Technically not a campground at all, just parking for big rigs. Flush bathroom with cold water only. No tables. Right across the road from the resort. On the other hand, there will always be a spot in the vast overflow area. If you will be spending any time in the actual outdoors, go on up the hill to darling Texas Springs.
