South side is beach front. But showers at the North side, which is 5 to 10 minutes by food. Restrooms are at both sides. Very loud and noisy because of the street near by about 50m. By Uber 15 minutes to the center/15USD.

The positives it’s like 15 feet from the Pacific Ocean. hard to beat that, there is access to the Bayside too which is nice. The negatives they pack you in like sardines, they have light poles that make you feel like you’re camping in the Home Depot parking lot. they are not very pet friendly, no dogs on the beach, they close the gate at 7 PM so don’t plan on going anywhere for dinner unless you wanna get back to your campsite.

Dont go there unless you like sipping a 5 Dollar jack daniel bottle in a crowded parking lot. Have never encountered such power hungry, rude camp hosts. Seems retired Alcatraz guards volunteer here. We left after one night. The sites are so small that you touch your neighbor when you open the door. Hopefully they will act on the reviews and kick out the camp host

We were here for an extended weekend, Friday-Tuesday and had a wonderful time! We were a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews about small campsites. On Friday when we drove in, all the greeters and park employees were very welcoming and helpful. While it's a tight fit for backing your RV in, once your in everyone has their space and it was really comfortable. One feature we really appreciated was a septic truck that drove around every morning, if you wanted your tanks emptied. All the campers here were very friendly, the beach is beautiful and our beachfront site was awesome! We also drove into the town of Coronado one morning and that was fun too. We would definitely come back.

Beautiful spot! We had amazing views! Back row southern section at end spot 401 has view to ocean but close to bathrooms and garbage. The 100’s are beachfront....wow! Easy to navigate and back in to spot. Good hookup. Only thing was directions coming from the south made us go past entrance as you can’t turn left. Best to come from north and you can easily exit for silverstrand

First off the beach is great!!! That is the only good thing I can say about this campground. Tell me if this makes sense, if you have a trailer you can drive your truck in and out of the camp site. If you have a motor home they charge your car $10. Extra to drive it in each day you are here. If you have a tow car and it is not connected to your motor home they charge $10.
They charge $10 to use the dump station even if you are a paid guest. Take my advice, go to A private campground that is less money and with full hookups not just power and water and pay $10 to visit the beach part of Silver Strand.

PRO's:
Great location - Pacific on one side, San Diego Bay a real easy walk on the other.
Showers available in the Aquatic Center on the bay side.
Great beach for beach combing - san dollars a plenty first thing.
CON's:
Camp hosts are a little power mad.
Gate closes early - latest is 9:00pm in peak summer, s early as 7:00 off season. Does limit opportunities for dinner in Coronado or Imperial Beach. Opens again 7:00am.
No sewer, though for $20 you can get it pumped empty.

5 Star Beach, 1 Star camp hosts and rangers. They own the place and make the rules, and they change often. They are very happy to tell you them on sign in (6 month reservation wait). We stay here 3 or 4 times per year becase of the beach. On one stay, we were told, no alcohol in camp this weekend because of the children. My wife asked if the children where paying our $65 a night.
Here's the secret, no one is in charge of the water north of the campsite. You can walk as far north as you want in the surf, just stay off the restricted 'land'.

Don't stay here unless you like staying in a packed parking lot. Gate closes at 7, so forget about exploring the area or going out to dinner.

The ocean is beautiful, the people running the place are very unfriendly. The ranger will flash his pickup headlights telling you it's time to leave and don't stay a minute more.
