Stayed overnight. Was passing through and took a chance at a spot. Called at 1500 and the woman was very friendly. Put us in spot 36. Small site, probably 40 spots. All back in. A little tight. Full hook up, 50 amp. Level concrete slab. Bare bones. The commissary is about a block away. Small but well stocked. Very friendly. There is some interstate noise and a train nearby, but with the AC running and cpap machines we didn’t hear them. Would definitely stay here again but advise calling ahead.

This is our second time staying here. When you stay here as a traveler you will get Site 15. I think sites 15 & 17 remain open for visitors. The rest are permanent residence. There is free laundry at the motel behind it. You can walk to the commissary and small exchange. While your here go to Calico Ghost Town. It was awesome. Be sure to have lunch at the Calico House. It was delicious and the portions were big. This is a good spot to stay while your in the area and security is always a perk.

Clean bare bones rv park. Great for overnight stay. High noise with truck, car and trains going by. Earplugs ; ) We would stay here again. Great value at $35 a night for full hookups!

The base itself has been a pleasant surprise with a modern, well-equipped fitness center, super nice tennis court, clean, well-maintained bowling alley, a cafe and a very nice, well-stocked commissary appropriately sized for a smaller base. The campground itself is nothing special, but is safe, quiet (except for highway, but no biggie) and the hookups work. The pads are a bit narrow and no tables. We have a 26' trailer and there was barely room to park our truck. We started our stay with one night of dry camping while we waited for our spot to open the next day. The campground is mostly longterm residents with a few spots for "overnighters." Just focus on yourself and don't pay attention to the longterm area and it will all be fine! Word of warning, there are a ton of giant sand spurs, so make sure to check your shoes often and don't walk through the medians!

This was perfect for our needs. A long cement pad, easy hook ups, quiet despite the freeway being so close and last minute availability. A doggy area. It is no frills but met our needs.

If you’re Air Force, you’ll complain. If you’re a Marine, you’ll love it!

$35 is over priced for a very basic site... there’s no WiFi, no playground on site, not even a picnic table. This is an extremely basic site with nothing around. Even finding the office is difficult and lacking. Also, not pull through, only back in spots. The two stars are for the friendly staff. I’ve stayed in many military sites and this is the most disappointing yet.

Good place to stopover for a night. A little high for basic famcamp ($35). Has power (50 amp) and water only. I might use again but would consider dry camp if stopping over this part Cali.

The charge was high for a military campground ($35). The campground is bare bones with the main road lined with a row of campsites on either side. All sites are back in and there are full hookups, which worked fine. There is no Wifi even though the clerk said they had it. There is really nothing to see in Barstow. It is a good overnight stop on your way to some place more interesting.

Very clean with level concrete pads. Every square inch of campground has concrete, asphalt or pea gravel. 300 Yards off of I-40 just east of I-40/I-15 intersection. Easy access through main gate. Campground is right after coming in main gate. No showers or toilets. In sight of BX and Commissary. Nice secure place for overnight. Sure beats WalMart parking lot. Would stop again for sure.
