This is the nicest private RV site and campground I have ever stayed at. The site is huge, at least 1 km by half a kilometre but with only 26 sites. Some are open but reasonably private and spacious, others (unserviced) in the woods and close to the river. There are areas of old growth forest on the site and some meadows (maybe for group camping). Next to the highway but it is not busy at all. Short walk to a supermarket. A Canadian Legion across the road (Friday $10 burger night when we were there). Lots of hiking nearby. Bathrooms, showers, and laundry all clean and well kept. Very good WIFi at least where we were and 4 bar 5G (Telus and Bell).
The only thing to consider is that if you are driving from the east you will need to come down from the Heckman Pass (known locally as "The Hill" or, more accurately, "The Precipice"). This is the steepest road I have gone down. It is a dirt road with sections up to 20% grade with challenging switchbacks and hairpin turns, in many sections it is single-lane. The rule is that you have to yield to uphill driving trucks. So if you have a big rig you need to know how to drive in these conditions. See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJNWvM_t05g (it gets scarier towards the bottom). You can also take the ferry from Prince Rupert or Port Hardy, I was told, and believe, that going up the ‘hill’ is easier than going down.
