The sites are in an open field. I chose a gravel site and the gravel & sand pad was fine for me - firmly packed, level and dry. (camper van). There is an artificial lake on the grounds that is a nice place for a walk or fishing. Staff were friendly. Rest rooms a bit of a walk from most sites.

Others have provided accurate descriptions of this nice spot. I can confirm, though I only stayed one night. Nice sites, outdoor activities, decent bathrooms - shower were fine, but minimal (there was hot water).

This campground was an amazing discovery! It is clean and well kept up. There are tent sites that you can drive up to for $25 a night and there are RV sites for $35 a night. I originally had a tent site, but I decided to upgrade to an RV site even though I didn’t need, the amenities. The RV sites were so darn nice! Fool Hollow lake is an excellent lake to kayak in and there is a great trail around most of the lake that is very walkable! The bathrooms and the showers are clean and provide hot water and flushing toilets. There tare trash receptacles everywhere. It is extremely quiet here which is lovely and you can hear the geese around the lake. Everyone here is so friendly and I enjoyed my stay thoroughly! I will definitely be back!

Snagged a last minute reservation for one night here on April 1. Sites are large and private; bathroom/showers were clean and modern; quiet campground. The lake level was very low but it looked nice for kayaking under normal conditions, and there was a good looking hiking trail around the lake. Verizon signal was medium.

This park is exceptionally well taken care of. The sites are paved. All the amenities are in great condition and the volunteers are doing a great job keeping the restrooms and the campsites immaculate. We only stayed one night and one day, but we WILL be back.

RV camping for two nights In January 2021. The only campsite area open was Mallard. Very clean camp grounds. Bathroom and shower area were also immaculate. Quiet. Lots of trails to hike around the lake. Park signs make driving easy to get places in the park. Staff were super friendly and on site hosts were available and camping too. Spaces were large and mostly level. Some had amazing views of the lake. Power, sewer and water hookups at the site and we had no issues. Definitely a must return for us.

Like other reviewers this is a nice park. I stayed two nights Jan. 27 and 28, 2020. Lots of room between spaces all paved and for my truck camper in site 13 in the redheaded loop fairly level.Nice trail around the lake with a lot of birds. Lake very quiet this time of year. I managed to get dish reception between the trees and Verizon reception was excellent. Most sites in my loop not filled. At 6200 ft it is cold at night, got down to 19F last night. Site 12 had a better lake view.

The park is spotless and beautifully paved, but all sites in the loop with hookups are mostly sloped, requiring significant leveling. Winter camping had no choice of type of site, thus $35/night. Homolovi near Winslow was only $20. Showers are nice, but no temperature control. It was just warm, and I was freezing!

Okay, this park is going to get a lot of superlatives. The rangers are the friendliest of workers at any park public or private that I have ever been to. The paved sites the best. The private shower/toilet rooms the best. The lake is not the most scenic lake in the whole world, but oh well. There's a Starbucks in the Safeway in town (3 miles away), don't be fooled that there's no sign up. Went to eat at Licano's on a local's recommendation. After driving across rural areas for several days, this town was an oasis.
