Amazing spot. Stayed in a spot directly overlooking the rim. Some areas are more crowded than others. The road is unpaved but in pretty good shape. One of the best free boondocking spots I’ve come across. Will return.

Great spot! We went in early June. Definitely a popular place... all the spots on the rim were taken. Dry camping for the most part, although there is a primitive restroom at entrance(not sure of the condition). Definitely worth a try.

This campground is the most beautiful dispersed camping site we've tried. It's also the busiest. There are sites here where you are parked right on the rim. There's no better place to see the Mogollon Rim. But the only way to get one of the prime sites is to get here on a Monday. There are no reservations and it's incredibly busy for being so remote. There are no services, no toilets, no tables - just what you bring with you. We stayed in a Class A Motorhome in June 2016. We heard elk bellowing and there may be bears so all food should be kept in a closed RV or closed containers. We really enjoyed it and believe it to be the best boondocking site you can get to experience the Mogollon Rim.
