Snagged a last minute two night cancellation Mar 22-23. Beautiful park and facilities. Electric and water, paved sites with table and firering; nice clean bathrooms and showers. Quiet! No dust!

This is a superb Arizona park, conveniently located to a ton of great destinations. Stayed here for a week during peak mid-March season. Friendly, helpful staff. Well maintained and clean. Glad to see both aluminum and plastic recycling. Good spacing between sites in the Red Tailed Hawk loop. Only negatives are associated with its heavy use (dusty picnic table area, lots of daily turnover and associated traffic, occasional obnoxious UTV). I can芒鈧劉t fault the park for its popularity so I kept my rating at five stars. Would stay here again.

Check in was a breeze, we didn芒鈧劉t need firewood but they did have it available for sale and I saw a camp host delivering it to one of the neighbors. The park is exceptionally clean, clean showers and bathrooms. Our site was fairly flat. We enjoyed some easy hikes leaving from this park. The 1.7 ish mile loop around the lakes is easy and pretty. I imagine this park will be mush more lush and shady when all the trees come out of dormancy and leaf out. We would definitely stay here again!

The Park has a lot of variety with hiking and biking. Beautiful ponds, trails . Upper campsites are beautiful, especially the tent sites. The lower RV sites were a bit crowded. The camp host was super helpful. Cell service good

Warning! ! When make reservations be sure you read Height Limit! ! Some sites have only 10ft height limit, but trees do grow. They the state workers will NOT cut tree branches to allow RV芒鈧劉s in the sites. A friend had mad reservations for site 44 his RV would be in conflict with the trees. State employee said 芒鈧揑t not going to be cut芒鈧澝⑩偓聺. So user be weary. Other than that we love this park, restrooms are 12 out of 10. Some site will not handle RV over 30 ft. So be wise.

SKUNKS! Yes, the black and white kind! I saw two of them in the campground in the evening. I would not be outside after dark. Campground personnel are very nice. It is unfortunate that the campground ground is laid out similar to a commercial campground, fortunately there is more space but I felt packed in. Lots of nice trails and places to walk

We needed a campsite with our 25 ft TT in the Sedona area. This place was full except they had 2 nights open in 2 different sites so we took it. The campground is about 30 mins from Sedona. A fairly easy drive. This campground gives you very beautiful views. We had a pull through site 92 and 85. We had to use slight levelers but sites are paved and mostly level. Plenty of room here. Not crowded at all. We have water and 30/50 amp here with no sewer hookup. They have a double dump station. 2 out of 4 bars with Verizon I like that this state park is in Cottonwood, and not Sedona. Sedona is totally commercialized and Cottonwood is not. Be sure to visit Cottonwood old down town. Quant shops and great restaurants. Bathrooms and showers are clean. Showers are a little small so if you need more room, use the handicapped. Haha Very friendly people at this campground and lots of hiking available around the grounds. We paid about $ 37 a night and would love to camp here again.

The pluses are that the location and day use trails are great. Bathrooms are heated but not as good, tiny toilet and shower stalls. Staff are friendly. Minuses are the electric sites are close together like a KOA, no shelters. Prices are steep for what you get. New Mexico State Parks are half the price for twice as much of everything. 3 stars.
