I’m struggling with this rating. It is more like 3.5 but I can’t give half stars. I really expected to be wowed because of the reviews but just was not. The location at the base of Superstition is amazing and there are some good hiking trails. The campground seemed very crowded after coming from the very spacious McDowell Mountain campground. And there are only two restroom/shower buildings for the entire campground. Some campsites had almost a .5 mile walk. The campground was packed though and I didn’t have to wait for a shower in the week we were there. The camp hosts do a,great job keeping each site neat and clean. If your into mountain biking you will be disappointed. Only one trail and it was not very good. It’s a great stop to spend a couple days in Superstition mtn and spend a day touring the Apache Trail. I’m glad we stopped but probably won’t return as I think there are better options.

If location is the only criteria, this campground is the winner. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets with the Superstition Mts. As the background. Campground sites in the main campground (sites 1-75) are spacious and private. The other campground has asphalt sites but the are smaller and less private. Shower and toilet facilities are good but too far away from most campsites.a second facility is needed.Trails here are excellent and civilization is only a 10 minute drive away. Restaurants nearby were not the greatest. Overall, a highly recommended campground, particularly for outdoor enthusiasts, but don't expect to find a walk-in site this time of year. We camped in a 25 ft. MotorHome.

This is a rare five star park. The views and atmosphere is great and the hiking trails are top notch. Paved sites.Verizon LTE two to three bars. I can see why it's so highly rated. I didn't experience the shower house or restrooms.

This place is so beautiful! This is one of my all time favorite campgrounds. The Superstition Mountains overlook the whole area. Inspiring. Campsites are spaced out nicely so you aren't on top of one another. Price is very reasonable.
The nearby ghost town is really fun to walk through. Lots of history in the area. We will go back here for sure.
They can handle large rigs. Ours is a 39' 5th wheel. Just look at the length descriptions online per site.

We stayed here in late March (2017), we lucked out not too hot yet. Stayed 9 nights this time, we really enjoy this park! Excellent views of the Superstition. Reservations are recommended. We stayed here in a 38 foot fifth wheel.

Terrific state park - at least in cooler December! Lots of trails, nice water/electric sites. Neat and tidy. I would definitely suggest reservations as the place has been pretty full. We will definitely return.
View of the Superstition Mountains is wonderful - lots to do in the area.
Avoid church at nearby Goldfield Ghost Town unless you want political, angry, white guy religion.

We stayed here the last week of February of 2016. It is a beautiful park. We had a nice big site with a great view. We weren't ready to leave when our week was up but had no choice. Would definitely stay here again

I visited the park today to do some hiking while staying in the area. The park seems very nice, clean and well maintained. I did drive through the capmping area and saw the dump station, it had two lanes, along with camp sites for RV's and tents. RV sites appeared to have full hookups and most looked to be brand new.

I live approximately 5 miles from this park, and have camped here many times, in both a tent and a camper. It's a great place to camp. It has not been closed. As a matter of fact, they have recently added more campsites.
